God help you America....

We were already on a razor’s edge of divisiveness when the pig fuckers elected an incompetent conman endorsed by the Klan. I travel a lot for work and I have more in common with a university educated person from Europe than I do with a red state Trump voter. Not only don’t we share the same values, their values are inimical to mine. To come together with them would be to abandon my black and brown brothers and sisters.

Everybody assumes there will be a world in four years.

God doesn’t live here anymore. The religious right has made certain of that.

QFT

I still don’t see daily lives of most people being changed much by Trump’s presidency.

Let me guess, white, dude and have health insurance through your employer?

When it comes to religion and God and stuff, I don’t know what to believe, because how can I know, right? So I’m undeclared on the religion thing. But I’ll take this, with thanks:
**God help you America…

**We’re gonna need it. Especially those of us who aren’t currently rich, those of us who give a shit about those that aren’t rich, and even those Trump voters who just can’t see it coming. We’re going to fucking need it.

In the Pit?

I don’t think my life will change much, but I’m an old, wealthy, white, married heterosexual in a strongly democratic part of California.
I fear for my parents who are dependent on Social Security and Medicare (and probably food stamps, but they will never admit it to me). I fear for my gay and non-herteronormative friends. I fear for my immigrant coworkers, especially the brown and maybe-not-christian ones. I fear for my friends who are already working moms of childbearing age, they need the birth control the republicans have threatened to take away. I fear for my elderly friends whose retirement accounts cannot take another recession. I fear for my friends who have disabilities. I fear for my friends and cousins in the military, Trump and every other republican candidate promised to get us into a land war with ISIS.

EIGHT years? Man, I’m trying to picture a 78-year-old Trump, and it ain’t pretty.

And how will he manage to get his tiny little dick stiff for th’ Russian pee hookers?

Someone on his staff will be grinding up little blue pills and dissolving them in his morning orange juice.

I don’t think the prostitutes care if it’s stiff as long as they get paid.

Thank you for your concern kambuckta
Gee, this might be my first posting in the BBQ Pit since “Dubya” was President.
And the guy that’s our President-elect makes “Dubya” look like Abraham Lincoln by comparison.

I think everyone here saw that distinctive, eloquent press conference this morning. Well, it seems that Trump doesn’t like the press too much and he came out swinging. By all means, Trump keep swinging and keep antagonizing. Nixon and Agnew took a similar turn with the “hostile press” and look where it got them.

The premier (governor) of my state as I grew up was famous for his hostility and condescension towards the media. Like Trump his support was from the rednecks. He described press conferences as “feeding the chickens”. His lack of candour and his contempt of the media did him no harm. His supporters all regarded the media as pinko, damn librul, effete big city pansies, and cheered him on. His famous line when asked awkward questions by the media was “don’t you worry about that”, implying it was all under control and not something the media needed to worry about.

His supporters regarded him as a Big Man who “got things done” and supported his stance that he didn’t need to explain himself to media lapdogs yapping at his heels.

Sound like anyone you know?

He only lasted 26 years. Just sayin’.

Thomas Playford?

Joh Bjelke Petersen, peanut farmer in Qld.

Apt.

Yes, I suppose my posting was just wishful thinking.
Unfortunately, disreputable people do come into power without having any repercussions to contend with.

Yep, just what we need right now: more Der Trihs style encouragement for everyone to just give up in despair.

I’m pleasantly surprised there haven’t been any Jonestown type events in the news by similarly thinking people, especially on the family level.

Amazing.

The sky-is-falling mentality is strong with you.

What is it with your party that you have to be the grimmest, most fearful people there is?

What happened to the party of hope.

I hoped Obama would work out at first. As much as I disagreed.

Why can’t you"* (The Democatic base)

Why act worse than what your criticized and mocked only a couple months ago

A new Great Depression will change most people’s lives. As will the imposition of a new version of Jim Crow and replacing secularism with theocracy.

And it’s Trump and the Republicans, not just Trump.

Hope is dead; the monsters have won. Everything of value in this nation will be destroyed. The Democrats will be disenfranchised, imprisoned or executed as part of the religious, ethnic and political purge that is coming. There’s no hope there.

The future of America is a tyrannical plutocratic theocracy ruling over a starving, terrorized populace and a collapsed economy.
