I’m on board with the notion, but regardless, it’ll still be his administration only with Pence steering us toward a Gay-Free America.
Between Trump and the Republicans, even in a best case scenario they’ll do damage that’ll take decades to undo. And quite a bit of damage that will be unfixable.
And I feel it’s more likely that we’ll end up with an essentially permanent one party state, and a plutocratic, racist theocracy.
The people of a huge part of our country are broken. Trump is a symptom of how broken these people are. So It’s probably 8 years.
On the bright side a huge number of us live in parts of the country that are relatively healthy. For example, the governor of my state, New York, just laid out an agenda that any liberal would love and this is on top of the accomplishments already achieved.

Based on his past behaviour, and what appears to be his impending Constitutional violations, I think he should be impeached. But I’d rather see him quit.

Too late, we’re already irreparably broken. The country will never be the same.
Never the same, that’s true. But that’s always true. We stopped being “the same” after Nixon, after Reagan, after Bush I, after Bush II, and after Obama.
We’re not broken, just smudged and smirched. We go into periods of less corruption (Obama) and more corruption (Bush II.) We’ve got a strong working democracy, although it’s trapped inside a republic. Trump will hurt us severely, but he can’t destroy the spirit of freedom.
Agreed that he will do damage that will take decades to fix. And, yes, some of it will be irreversible. Some women will be compelled to have babies; some convicts will be executed without due process; Lithuania will be sacrificed to Russian aggression. Ultimately, the U.S. will come out of it with a working democracy, and there will be Democratic presidents to succeed him.
The bottom line is that we’re no longer a single country. uS politics is now a zero sum game where the loser has no reason to work with the victor.
And to think the biggest profiteer of political discord in western civilization is Australian.
