God is a kid in a wifebeater who will SHOOT you

Homer: I’m sorry I lied to you, Marge. But this gun had a hold on me. I felt this incredible surge of power, like God must feel when he’s holding a gun.

Here’s a model in a Hanes tagless, another in Mastering the Undershirt, and one more.

I think I am wrong in that all the v-necks have short or cap sleeves, and the previously identified wifebeater has no sleeves. My first thought was to find a photo of Onslow, but it turns out he wears a sleeveless scoop neck, as pictured here, like the boy in the video. Are all wifebeater shirts sleeveless, to give a guy more room to swing?

I was going to suggest Jainism, myself. Also, God is an iron.

No. God is a bullet have mercy on us everyone.

I think the fact that this is the 25th post and nobody can really say for sure what the commercial was trying to express is all the indictment you need.

What that makes me wonder is who this commercial is directed towards. If it’s directed towards non-believers or the casually religious, it’s an epic fail; it just pisses them off. So perhaps it’s directed at the religious, but if so, why sell religion to those who already have it? I’d have to conclude that it’s just meant to draw the already zealous Christian towards this particular organization’s specific goals.

To frighten those who might waver in their devotion.

Will God let you live if you pay off his ransom demands? Admittedly, scraping up $8,000,000 on short notice is a tall order, but at least it gives you a shot at it…

I think you have to be a majority somewhere in order to count.

I mean, it’s pretty difficult to form repressive theocratic governments or even angry mobs when you’re never more than 1% of the population.

That makes “Not even God can hit a one-iron” even more puzzling.

None of the shirts in your first three links are wifebeaters. A wifebeater is a white, ribbed, sleeveless tank top with a scoop neck.

This wifebeater discussion is giving me some insight into the mutual excommunication of 1054.

Ah, thank you. It appears my previous definition of wifebeater shirt was needlessly broad.

I think it’s supposed to be selling hard-core edgy religion to the middle. The AIG does not appear to be a mainstream Christian group.

I can’t find a single definition on the Internet that is so picky about the shape of the neck. However, I am sure I’d be able to find plenty of other people who are argumentative about incredibly specific and narrow made-up conditions of word-usage.

No, God is a top hat. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

Yet another example of why I feel Christianity is the most judgmental and hateful of the mainstream religions.

Even moderate Muslims are often heard denouncing their fundamentalist brethren. Yet there’s tons of material like this all over the place and nary a peep out of the “moderate” Xtians. Too busy silently agreeing, or at least too cowed by the fundies to speak out.

I’m not so sure of that. God’s enemies certainly don’t matter to God, as the OT makes abundantly clear. And, while the NT tells you to love your enemy, it doesn’t tell you to love God’s enemy.

But I’m an atheist so I’m only WAGging here.

Pretty much.

Actually, this makes a lot of sense, and explains quite a bit about the world.

Remember that guys that went and shot up a church lately? I wonder how the makers of this ad interpreted that event.
