i can’t believe I never heard of it. It’s marvelous!
I’ll save you the back-track right now - there IS alt-text for every comic.
I only got about a dozen in last night but nice find. Thanks!
I forgot about those. I was following a blogger a few years ago who was a huge fan of this comic. I now have to go back and read some.
Checking in on Wonderella is a Saturday morning ritual for me. I’m hoping that if I train really well I’ll be able to jump hella high some day.
Could you explain what this means?
There is a mini punch line on every coming if you hover the mouse over the picture.
You know, when I’d seen it before, I disliked the lack of continuity–as I tend to expect that of webcomics. But when I checked it this time, it dawned on me that this is more like a newspaper comic. And it’s much funnier than any of those, since you never see the punchline coming, and the comedy is about making fun of something.
Here’s one that’s especially Dope appropriate: The Non-Adventures of Wonderella » Archive » QUOTE of Arms
The author does seem to take a lot of pleasure in playing with superhero and comics tropes:

This one doesn’t ring true for me: “Batman is a weirdo loner freak with bizarre fetishes” has been part of the standard character interpretation since about 1986, and likely earlier in subtext. It’s not something any fan who knows about stuff like weakness databases would be shocked by. I mean, Watchmen.
(And, yes, I’m typing this response into a message board thread about a completely different webcomic. I know whereof I speak.)
That said, I do love this webcomic and find it laugh-out-loud funny on a regular basis.
