For the unfamiliar, The Non-Adventures of Wonderella is a weekly webcomic revolving around Dana Price/Wonderella, a Wonder Woman parody who’s something of a cross between Lynda Carter and Elaine Benes. It’s usually a pretty hilarious strip.
However, I just don’t get the joke in this week’s strip. (Permanent link here.)
Obviously, the story she’s telling is false (she was created by the Vaguely Greco-Roman Godhead, and doesn’t have a father as such, though she does have a mother as the result of a cosmic reboot), but that can’t be all there is to it. Her story sounds vaguely like a recap of some old country music song - is there a pop culture reference in here that I’m missing? Help me out.
