God

Please respond to the following:

1- you violated the first rule of this board which clearly states; PLEASE USE DESCRIPTIVE TITLES WHEN STARTING THREADS
You used only one word for your title: GOD. Is that a descriptive title?

2- My brain is my God. I wouldn’t do to others anything that I wouldn’t want to be done to me. That’s it. Why the fuck do I need your stupid GOD for anything else?

3- I am my own master on this planet until I die. Meanwhile, I need no advice from you, GOD, nor any fucking religion on this planet.

Oh. I am sure you mean well. You are going out of your way to make sure that I live a good life now, and then I go to heaven.

You know what? Go to hell. I don’t need you. I’m doing pretty well without your advice, or whatever your post is supposed to convey.

Do you have a problem with that?

Do you need a starship?

Don’t be harsh on the OPer, He is attempting to explain God. I understand a lot of what he says, but not all. Several years ago I attempted to do the same.

http://ndeweb.com/God.htm

There are remarkable similarities of concept between his and mine. However I did warn the reader.

Interesting timepropulsion do you speculate that the GOD you are discribing exists within time as Humans do? Since you say that Humanity (or presumably any spiritually aware beings) create GOD through self realization and the declaration ‘I AM’. Do you propose that GOD created (or ‘lit the big bang’) the universe, or do you believe in an uncreated (or self creating) universe?

Interesting first few posts. Con’t get angry when people dissagree with you here, and don’t state somthing as true unless you have good cites to back up the claims, if you do that you’ll get allong fine here.
Cheers, Bippy

Right. Like cars, for instance.

Doctor Goo Fee: Baaaa. Oh, wait. We’re lemmings now. Squeak!

All one! All one!

You are educated stupid!
I dunno, it’s vaugely sensical, if unprovable. Why not?

I think I read something similar on the side of a bottle of soap once…

Jesus was crucified for our sins according to the Bible. See 1 Corinthians 15:6 and Matthew 26:28. He was NOT crucified merely for His preaching. He came here specifically to die for our sins.

Signed,

His4ever (and HER ilk)

Um, His4ever, that was the reason why he was charged under the Romans. They didn’t know jackshit about his purpose-they just believed he was plotting to overthrow the Empire. And the Pharisees thought he was a threat to them.

We’re talking about the secular nature of it, not the spiritual purpose.

That idea reminds me of someone else.

Thanks for enlightening me.

And thus the battle between two people with equally unprovable assertions commenced.

No probs-I wasn’t being sarcastic, just looking at it from a different angle. BTW, I thought Eric Clapton was supposed to be God?

Hmmmm…:stuck_out_tongue:

Assertions-

  1. Dr. Goo Fee is a total puppet
  2. OPer has no idea what a “fractal” is

As an 18 year old observing the views and opinions of those more learned and experienced than my own, I frequently find myself in the situation where I’m not sure if something is way over my head or just stupid.

This is almost one of those times.

Alright people, now lets all mix our barbituates with our applesauce…

I agree with the OP. The only God is I AM. But in my case, I’m solipsist. So I take his statement literally. Which is, of course, to say that I imagined he said it and thus is was so. Because I am the only reality. Or something.

I need to find a less confusing form of sprituality.

It’s like the young Descartes said to his playgound taunter:
“I know I am but what are you?”
(Tell that one to the philosophy major who serves you fries tonight. He’ll get a big kick out of it.)

This soap, maybe?

“Absolute cleanliness is godliness! Teach the moral ABC that unites mankind free, instantly six billion strong, and we’re All-One!”

Psst. www.timecube.com also.

God isn’t ‘I Am’. God is, at best, ‘I Don’t Know’, and at worst ‘I Don’t Want To Know’.

oooh, this bit really got me. I have strong opinions about him -and god. I can’t even LIKE a guy who made money out of a song he wrote about a kid he fathered, didn’t see That often, and didn’t even donate the profits to a child’s charity - shudder
I saw him in a documentary and the standards and ideals that may have made him “godlike” one upon a time went straight out of the window - he’s not even a nice guy! He’s turned into everything he used to hate when he was younger. Sorry if I’ve offended the Clapton “disciples” but it IS only MY opinion

As for god? well, again referring to the fact that I’m Irish and grew up with religion being stuffed into me, hellfire and damnation etc etc, I can’t believe in this icon who is used to rule people and make them feel guilty about everything. I had a brave religious education teacher (in Ireland) who spent one lesson explaining the miracles from a scientific angle and thought YES! that’s it! She’s hit my nail right on the head and since then, I’ve never looked back (she did cause a new-born christian in the class to have near hysterics I might add - that was the icing on my cake lol)

I think the best way of doing things is to treat everyone fairly - the same way as you would like to be treated. You get back what you give out?
