Excuse me for making two threads in one night, but I have to let some steam off.
I refuse to recite the pledge in school. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I don’t go around telling everyone they’re “sheep” for saying it. I’m a sophmore in highschool, by the way. Anyway, someone found out my AIM screen name, and every couple of days I’m getting unexpected, threatening messages from these assholes. I have some fun with it, but the fact that these people can exist pisses me off.

What is wrong with these people? Their logic is:
doesn’t say the pledge + arab = “sand nigger”/“dirty arab”/“osama lover”
These people may actually be voting in a few years.

Next time someone says you are an “osama lover”, say “you know what, I never thought about it, but I really do love Osama! It must be the beard! When it comes unwanted AIM conversations, I’m a big fan of using a little kung-fu; specifically, the kung-fu block. Puh-KOW! And they never bother you again. My block list is, coincidentally, much larger than my friends list.
I tried to refuse the pledge saying that one of the amendments or something (i knew at the time but i forget now) but my teacher said something about me having to because of her having the right to make me for a reason that i forget

You know, I’m in a bind. I love having intelligent and well-spoken (and admirably Cecil-like) young posters like agiantdwarf around, but moronic drool heads like Corbomite make me wanna shout unto the heavens, “WHEN THE FUCK DOES SCHOOL START AGAIN?”
The teacher has zero right to force you to recite the pledge. You have what’s known as the Constitutional right not to participate in it in any way at all. That includes, if you so decide, to just sit there ignoring the entire thing or even walking out of the room until it’s over. And a threat to sue the teacher and the school district is definitely in order if the teacher continues to deny you your Constitutional rights. A fun remark to make in such an instance is to remind her that people have actually gone to jail for violating someone’s civil rights.

Well, so, apparently does agiantdwarf, who is, from his OP either an Arab Israeli or a non-Arab Israeli who jerks at school think is Arab. That’s the whole point of the rant…that because you don’t say the pledge and also are Arab (or people think you are), it doesn’t mean you’re best friends with Osama.
