God's Tebow-bias

Ask and Ye shall receive!! (tho the pass was incomplete).
“I praise you 24/7 and this is how you do me!!!”

i admire Tebow because in your face religious fanaticism or not, i think he’s a good human with traits i with more people had.

i don’t really like anyone who’s all in your face about anything: rabid atheists like Bill Maher drive me bonkers just as bad as in-your-face religious nuts. as do out-loud-and-proud Twilight fans or people who follow Glee. or members of the cult of Apple. (i just alienated myself into a dark abyss, huh?)

anyone who lacks humility doesn’t seem like an asset to humanity in my ironically “humble” opinion.

i can totally get behind the “all things to the glory of God” concept. that is, thanking God for a td/fg or W is fine and doesn’t necessarily mean you’re saying “God did this.”

treating God like the sky pirate who needs his cut of ALL THINGS make actually perfect sense to me in a weird way. the dude DID used to need sacrifices, after all. “i worked my totally mortal ass off for this but here’s your cut, Father God.”

Not really, I’d want Tim to shut up about us getting out of Afghanistan too if that was his message predilection. It’s the ‘using his celebrity’ that’s so self absorbed that most sticks in my craw.

Watch this house of hypocrisy cards fall the minute a Muslim player busts out the prayer mat on the side lines.

Weirdly, at the same time I was reading this thread, a friend texted me a picture of a hot naked chick Tebowing.

Link or it didn’t happen.

American football (gridiron, if you will) has always had emotional elements to it.
Some folks treat that as a gateway to expressing their religious faith.
Weird, but true.
Millions of folks watch these guys.
Sometimes they think they need to ‘testify’.

I predict another late game miracle.

Yes, because using the scientific method we evaluate all of our data before it actually occurs. That’s why we look down on all those silly superstitious folks who actually wait for the data to support their beliefs.

Your argument makes 0 sense.

How do you throw a Hail Mary pass against Tebow’s team?

Truly a just and wonderful God.

As I’ve pointed out in other threads, Muslim athletes HAVE given Allah credit for all their wins. Muhammad Ali invoked Allah at the end of every fight.

Did Howard Cosell ever tell Ali, “Shut up about Islam, Champ, we’re sick of it”?

Of course not.

hahhahahahahah
O my goodness, John, that was great.
The answer is that Tebow is Protestant.

The Hail Mary is a Catholic prayer- a fundamentalist Protestant like Tebow would never say it.

But he wouldn’t be the one saying it. The other team’s QB would be. Are you going to say that no Protestant has ever thrown a Hail Mary pass?

That was then, this is now. Let’s see what happens if a Muslim player does it now.

My argument made sense and your objection doesn’t, but I did use the wrong phrase. I meant to say it’s post hoc reasoning. When you start from the point of view that God is responsible for anything, you can always work backwards and figure out why he did it. So the OP is wasting his time.

Katy Perry’ parents are reportedly trying to set the two of them up.

I’d like to have a wager, reposted from another thread, with Christians who believe in this stuff.

If Tebow wins the Superbowl this year, I’ll admit Christianity is the real deal. If he doesn’t, you all renounce Christianity.

Quite possible he is not. I have religious relatives who praise god for every tiny little positive thing, and explicitly state that it was god’s work. Very very deep confirmation bias.
