BTW, I’m not saying anything that hasn’t a) been cleared for release (Airman doesn’t tell me anything he shouldn’t, so there are some things I genuinely don’t know.) or b) broadcast in the American or local media, and thus has been cleared for release. In fact, most of what I know comes from the news.
I’ve got some links from the American media about his unit and some of what they do, and when I get home, I will be happy to post them.

I’m enroute with some time to kill, and I had the chance to get on the computer. Imagine my surprise when I saw this.
First off, I am unable to say where I’m going, or where I’m at. Rules are rules, you know. When I get where I’m going, there is going to be very little chance for me to communicate with anyone. If I can, I’ll get my address and give it to Robin, but that’s probably about the best I can do.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank all of you for the kindness you’re showing my family. If I had any worries about them, those fears went away when I saw this. In fact, I’m trying not to tear up because it’s rather undignified in public, y’know?
I’ll be back soon enough. I hope. In the meantime, Robin, I love you. And you too, Aaron. I’m missing you already. I’ll be back to you soon.

I just heard on the news that, for all practical purposes, there are no effective air defenses left around Baghdad anymore, so B-52’s are flying over with impunity.
If they can do it safely, so can you.
