Let's give Airman Doors, USAF a warm Doper send-off

As y’all know, Airman Doors, USAF is leaving tomorrow for six weeks of fun in the sun at scenic Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Also, as most of y’all know, he’s had a rough time getting to this point.

At any rate, I thought it would be nice if we could send him off with a smile.

Right now, I don’t know when his graduation date will be, but when he knows, I’ll know, and there WILL be a graduation Dopefest. Also, when I get his address, I will post again if anyone would like to write. I know it’ll mean a lot to him.

Anyway, I’d just like to say, honey, I love you and I’ll miss you and I can’t wait to see you in January.

Robin

Good luck, Airman Doors, USAF!!!

We love you!

Come back as soon as you can!

(sending you off with a smile)

Good luck, soon-to-officially-be Airman Doors, USAF.

I’ll give you the best single piece of adive I received before boot: Don’t take it personally. The TI’s have a job to do and, one day, they might decide you’re “it,” do not take it personally, they are just using you to teach a lesson. Other than that, six weeks is a piece of cake, you’ll be done before you know it and then, as a Marine that grew up by Wright Patt, I can make fun of you.

Here’s your smile-

Dave, I wish you the best of luck, and please hurry up and get done with this silly Air Force stuff so I can witness to you like the good fundie I am. ()

In all seriousness, best of wishes to you, hon. I’ll miss you.

Here’s a smile.

Take care of yourself babe. I’ll miss talking to you…brat-punk wars just aren’t the same by yourself…(I can see it now, multiple personalities fighting with each other, isn’t that scary?) But anyways, take care of yourself love, and remember, don’t shoot yourself in the foot! (Geez, I’ve given that warning to way too many people now, do y’all all have to keep leaving me? ::sniff::slight_smile:

You’d better get yo ass back here soon…I’m waiting

pUnk! [sub]You had to know it was coming…[/sub]

Dave,

Good luck and take care.

Zap!

Good luck at Lackland, Airman Doors! Try to hurry up with that silly training so you can rush back to be with the lovely MsRobyn, OK?

…Don’t take Basic personally. It’s nothing but indoctrination, and the DIs are there to help you (but not to be your friend!). Keep your head down, don’t volunteer too much, and keep yer trap shut except when spoken too.

You’ll be fine.

Be Well!

Good gravy. I’m tearin’ up just readin’ this stuff. I don’t even wanna imagine how those of you who let him infiltrate your homes/other personal things feel;)

Good luck, Dave, and try not to lose too much of your sanity:D

Suffice it to say, I will miss him a lot. And what’s this about personal things?! That’s kinda personal, dontcha think?

Robin

And thus why I wasn’t more specific, dear:)

Hey, good luck man.

The boards wil be a little more lonely without you.

You’ll do fine.

Don’t be first at anything, don’t be last at anything, don’t volunteer, don’t speak up and when crap comes your way, roll with the blows.

You’re doing something to be proud of.

S. Norman

Guys, this is really touching. I’m absolutely speechless.

If you only knew what you all mean to me. I mean, my life has been irrevocably changed by all of you here. Geez, I’m barely making sense here, because I’m tearing up.

I’ll miss all of you, more than you can possibly imagine.

I gotta go for a while. This is too hard right now.

-Dave

I got something to make it easier:D

What’s the address for your CO or whatever? I want to send him a, uh, birthday card. Yeah. That’s it.

[sub]I was going to send him pics of Dave from August. I thought they’d help him get adjusted at basic. Just wanted to clarify.[/sub]

Airman Doors, you have done so very, very well this year – I am very proud to have known you, even if only through the medium of the SDMB.

Keep on doing, well, man. I’m extremely happy and pleased for you.

Dave, Bluesman and I are so proud of you for being so committed to serving, sticking out all the BS (before you even got in, for cryeye),and we know your actions will reflect credit upon yourself, the United States Air Force, and the United States of America.

Oh yes, and for the second time in less than ten years, American Aerospace Power has carried out the national will and made the world a better place. Welcome to the first team.

Now, go get some sleep. You’ll need it.
