Goin to Monster Jam for the forst time

In about an hour I’m loading up Daisy and heading to see Monster Jam.:smiley:

Neither of us has been before. I’ve been to tons of events. Drags/SuperX/concerts etc Daisy has been to the drags once The Snowbird Nats w/jet cars.
No real point, just something mundane and pointless I must share:D

I took my kid to the big one in Vegas. Fun and entertaining. Fast paced, no down time, big names.

Took him to one in Reno. Phoney and tedious. Lots of waiting for stuff to happen, and when it did, it was mostly Good Ol’ Boys from down the road racing clapped-out Ford Rangers. A couple of “real” monster trucks, but driven by people you’ve never heard of.

We’ve both out-grown it now.

The show was OK. It’s a small arena so they were obviously limited.

You basically get to see the trucks fuck around a bit in first gear.:rolleyes:
The donut competition was weak. 2.5-4 rotations and they stopped:o

During the freestyle they did quite well with the limited space, but you could hear that they could barely dip into the throttle before they had to back off.

Over all it wasn’t horrible they work hard and try to keep it moving.
It’s not really a gearhead event, but we went because it was moderately priced and Daisy hasn’t been to alot of events and we want to change that.:smiley:

We only sat in 10 mins traffic goin in. I bought garage parking at Amilie Arena Tampa.
Handicapped parking right next to elevator.
Elevator opens right into the entry plaza. RIGHT THERE, no walk.:eek:
Car to seat was 5 mins. Like a stroll across wal mart. In the old days concerts and events were a $20 parking fee AND 1/2 mile walk or more. I paid $10 for secure garage parking.:cool:

Beers:eek: $16/can for Bud.:o I was floored. Coke was $6.75 for 16oz bottle.
