I really like Huntsman cheese. Anyone else tried it?
You wouldn’t last 10 seconds in an Enterprise thread. They get hijacked by the OP!
The thing about hijacks is, they only work when no one is interested in the OP anymore. If someone comes in after a lengthy hijack, there’s nothing stoping them from a “Getting back to the OP…” post and trying to re-rail the derailment. If there’s still life in the OP, then the discussion can continue despite the digression.
Define “conversations”. Is a post a conversation? Is an OP and a response a conversation? Several responses?
** …naturally… **
Define naturally. Do you mean found in nature? Found on electronic bulletin boards? Frequently occurring text patterns on a computer monitor?
…take twists and turns…
I’ve never understood the difference between a twist and a turn. Can you have one without the other?
…and on message boards it…
To what does “It” refer? Twists and turns? (in which case you meant “they”) Conversations? The existential state of “ISness”? The subjective illusion of “other”?
…is not the exception…
Linguistically, an exception is compared to something. But to what? To what is “it” compared as being unexceptional?
But…
See above: what is being negated?
** …there is a fine line…**
I think you mean the opposite – that there is a fine line between going from blue to green, but a wide line between the aformentiontiond and going from WHITE to BLACK. There is a fine line between clever and stupid, but a wide line between runny and firm.
**…I don’t see small hijacks and posts mildly deviating from the OT as a problem.
Hypothetical-but if the thread is about relationships and someone suddenly posts
about cheeses and the thread goes on about cheeses several pages long, that is just
disrespectful-to the original thread starter and the people who want to discuss
the original topic. ** Absolutely true. Damned right. Unless you can tell me where to find, in North America, some genuine Munster cheese from Europe. The only “Munster” cheese around here is made in Ohio or something. I want the real thing.
This was just brilliant.
::snif::
That was beautiful.
OPABINIA POWER!
You all should expect a happy hijack of your thread from me in the future.
This is completely disrespectful.
Aaaargh! I hate Mayor McCheese! The freaking hamburgler is standing right next to him. Do you see him doing anything about it? He let’s crime run amok. He’s on the take. I know it.
Try to think of a food that actually isn’t improved by adding some kind of cheese. Like the sound of one hand clapping, it actually clears the mind.
Jell-O. Ice cream. Pea soup. Peanut butter sandwiches.
How about Swiss Rolls, despite what a friend in high school thought – yecch.
BTW, I can clap one hand at a time. It’s not terribly loud, however.
Smoothies
Nothing better than pouring some hot, melted Tillamook over a big heaping bowl of chocolate pudding.
Peanut Butter and Baby Swiss sammiches are goooooood.
The Hamburglar has stolen the e’s from this post.
I shall rip them off in turn and use them for my shock-ed scream at such thievery!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
By the way, tell The Hamburglar that he missed one.
great, now he’ll be back…when the day is new…and he’ll have more ideas for you…and you’ll have things you want to talk about, and he…will…too!
Cheese makes me think of wine. I usually open a bottle of a cabernet sauvignon before dinner to relax with, but since we generally avoid red meats, we’ll have a bottle (tor two) of a white with dinner. Right now, my favorite is Caymus Vinyard’s Conundrum Chardonnay and currently have a couple of bottles from the 1999, 2000 and 2001 vintages in my cellar. We also have been drinking a number of Austrailian chardonnays, mostly Black Opal and Hardys. Occasionally, we’ll open a bottle of port for dessert, usually with fresh fruit and nice block of cheddar.
What wines are the rest of the Dopers drinking?
