Would you like a little cheese with that whine?
Fotosbyfrank, I am also a big fan of Caymus Conundrum and others from Aussieland. I particularly enjoy Rosemount Shiraz. I’m also partial to anything French or Italian. I have been thinking about trying some Argentinian reds. Anyone had those before?
I’ve never hijacked a cheese thread* before, but I wanted to reply to this post.
I didn’t see any complete hijack from white to black in the linked thread. Looked like a natural progression to me. And it all stayed relatively close to the OP topic.
Now, this is a hijack!
- the OP confused me. after all, this IS a thread about the joys of chese… Right?
Only one other food product holds the same status with me: butter!
Man, I can’t think of one thing that wouldn’t taste better with a half-slab of butter cooked into it, spead on it, or poured over it.
But butter and cheese?! Mmmmmm…
Now if you’ll excuse me, for some odd reason my heart seems to have stopped beating.

I say, Killick!
Would there be any toasted cheese in the offing?

‘ere! I wuz eatin’ a slice o’ brie whilst wadin’ in the Amazon, when a bloody Candiru fish swum up me wanker!
“Blimey,” sez I, “Strewth! The lil’ bastard’s eatin’ me goodies!”
All right, who cut the cheese?

Well, I think it’s funny. And I’m sure it cracks up lyricist Tim RICE.
I’m eating a Swiss Cheese omelet right now.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned the Monterey Hijack yet. Quite popular with the SDMB crowd… ;j

Neither is Cheese Whiz or Easy Cheese.
But you forget cream cheese. If you can make cheesecakes with Jello and peanut butter, why not leave the crust off and put cream cheese on it alone? And Ice cream is fine with cream cheese, although, I think it would be rather overkill on the cream thing. And pea soup is probably better with some cheddar on top, but I don’t like pea soup anyway.
I’ve been on a Shiraz kick recently. Don’t have a favorite brand, though.
A bit of butter in the batter makes the batter a bit better unless the bit of butter in the batter is bitter.

You wine drinkers, try NZ white wines, Aussie Red.
It’s always NZ white Aussie red (talking to self) why don’t they know this?
Hey, no one’s mentioned ricotta, the cheese that’s sure to please!
Imagine! You can have canneloni for dinner and then cannoli for dessert. What a versitile and tasty fromage!
Several people mentioned Tillamook cheeses. Tillamook also makes great ice cream. Today, I had to choose between caramel pecan and strawberry. It was close but strawberry won out.
Oh yeah. What was the original topic?
The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and it’s socioeconomical effects on the military-industrial complex.
German peanut butter lists cheese as a good match…WTF
In Amerika ist Erdnusscreme als Peanutbutter bekannt und wird auf Brot z.B. mit Käse, Marmelade, Honig oder einfach pur genossen.
In America Erdnusscreme is known as Peanutbutter and is enjoyed on bread with, for example, CHEESE (This is the first thing they can think of CHEESE?!?!), Marmelade (okay that can also be Jelly, I accept that), honey, or plain.
I hold to my claim that nobody is more preverse than Germans
Fried with ketchup…er Catsup… one of the two.
