I’v e gotten that a few times in the past…Oh never mind
It’s been awhile, but for my son I left two dollars a tooth, I also did this cute thing I’d read about in cosmo (or somewhere…they say the memory is the first to go):
You get the gold dust and a Barbie, dip the Barbie feet into some sort of non superglue type paste and then have her leave "Tooth Fairy Footprints up and down his pillow to the tooth.
My son is a heavy sleeper and never had a clue. Of course this might be a bit insulting to older kids, but the younger ones are pretty stoked.
My wife has given each of our 6 year old twin granddaughters a dollar coin and a note from the tooth fairy. The note thrills them more than the money does.
My son lost his first two in the last couple weeks. We gave him a buck apiece. Found out some other parents seemed to give $2, for what it’s worth. We’re considering upping a bit for future teeth.
The tough thing isn’t putting the money under the pillow, it’s finding the tooth, especially if it’s moved a bit.
My son had a couple of good questions that I didn’t know the answer to:
Is the tooth fairy male or female?
What does he/she do with the teeth? (He guessed that they use teeth for money where they live, which I thought was kinda clever).
I was in the early 90s, I think I got a buck the first few times, maybe 2 for all after that.
That’s awesome! Since I’ve got 2 sons, Barbie dolls aren’t an option…but we’ve got tons of Army men, robots, Spongebob figures.
Hmmm - would army boot footprints confuse my sons?
Guess we’ve got about 50 teeth to go – so much for the college fund.
Dad always had us put the tooth in an envelope so that the tooth fairy could more easily find it. Then the money was slipped into the same envelope back under the pillow.
Oh, and sometimes the tooth fairy was “really busy”, too, and she couldn’t make it until the next night ;).
Did you guys have the tooth fairy come for all your teeth? I was still losing teeth in sixth grade!
My kid’s a very good brusher. It’s a shame she’s losing such perfectly good little teeth!
Damn, Miss Magic8ball, if I was a tooth fairy, and I got a hand written letter and a cookie from a child, sure I’d cough up 5 bucks. That is sooooo sweet!
lol!
Well, in this day and age, I’d say it’s equal opportunity time, tell him it was the Tooth Fairy’s big strong assistant and that the tooth fairy department hires men AND women?
We use Kennedy silver dollars. They’re big, heavy, and not very common these days.
