I saw something on CNN about Simpson getting zinged at the globes. But it was a media clip I cant play at work!! Anyone know what happened

Golden Globes haven’t happened yet (next Monday), so it was probably the People’s Choice Awards. I saw about five minutes of it when the movie I was watching was over – George Lopez was ragging on her, not terribly funny, I don’t recall exactly what he said.
Hopefully this horrible re-hashing will spark someone else’s brain…
The setup involved her ex-husband (or are they separated?), and the punchline was “that makes up for Dukes of Hazzard”.
The joke was (paraphrased)
Lopez: We’re sorry that Nich Lachey couldn’t be here, but we already had enough seat fillers.
[exasperated look from Jessica Simpson]
Lopez: Did she laugh? No? Well, then we’re even for Dukes of Hazzard!
Lopez said that he was sorry Nick Lache (Simpson’s ex) couldn’t be there but they already had enough seat fillers.* When the audience gasped (They’ve been seperated for less than six months – so it was sort of a ‘too soon?’ type of gasp), Lopez responded, “hey, that just gets us even for Dukes of Hazzard,” or something along those lines.
If Simpson has anything to be embarrassed about, it’s that god-awful rendition of These Boots are Made for Walking she did. She also did this Beyonce-like rump shake that was just pitiful – all this from a hetero-dude who thinks she is otherwise white hot.
- Lache and Simpson both had pretty marginal careers (he was in 98 degrees - a poor man’s NSYNC - and she was a lower rung pop star along the lines of Mandy Moore) until they wed and hers took off while his, although benefiting from the publciity provided by their tv show, never quite measured up to hers.

Yes, the song was unbelievably bad. I thought that she started as a singer. How is this possible based on the evidence of that non-performance?
But Lopez was so pathetically unfunny that Comedy Central will probably give him his own show.
Even Craig Ferguson stunk up the joint and he was the only reason I watched.

OK, that made me grin.
