My great grandmother died a couple of days before her and my great grandfather’s 72nd anniversary. (He’s still alive; they would have been married 81 years this past July.)
My wife and I celebrated our 40th at a large dinner gathering, with just the family. The ‘kids’ gave us some money and told us to go to Coronado and stay at The Del. We did the following summer, and had a blast. [We were married in December].
We’re now preparing for the 50th in 2 years.
