Anyway I do think … x makes some points about your posting style that you should take a look at. I don’t know if you have a habit of not carefully reading your cites or what, but they seem to be off-topic a lot.
Yeah, well, speaking as a member of the peanut gallery your posts are intended to convince, I have to say that you really suck in a debate. Seriously: you’re semi-coherent at best, you utterly fail to address other debators arguments, and 90% of your conclusions are bat-shit crazy. I don’t always agree with xtisme, but at least he’s able to put his views forward in a lucid manner, and back them up with logic and relevant references. You’d do well to emulate him, although frankly, I don’t think you’re smart enough to do it.
I think you are giving the folks at Special Olympics too little credit to be honest, for a variety of reasons. Say rather it would be like winning a chess competition against a lobotomized hamster…and a not overly bright hamster to start with.
Actually no. If you do a search on me you will find that I actually don’t participate in The Pit very often…and that I’ve very rarely started Pit threads about individuals. Consider yourself special I suppose.

Well, see, the thing for me is this: What you said is true, but it can also be said about half a dozen other regular posters, and the advantage of gonzo’s posts is that they are SHORT. Some of our other crackpots go on and on and on and hijack their threads. Sure, gonzo is noise pollution, but he never actually says anything anybody feels requires a response. He’s like the guy in the back row who mimes the throwing of spitwads: irritating, but easily tuned out, because there aren’t any actual objects making contact.

If I were you – and this recommendation comes at no easy decision – I would concentrate on grammar and punctuation. I was going to say syntax and sentence structure, but I think 1) it might be too difficult for you to master; and, 2) we as a group should be smart enough to parse out your ideas if grammar and punctuation were correct. Honestly, your writing sounds less coherent than my mostly non-english (or whatever it is he claims is english) speaking dad.
Whether one feels elucidator is a “contributor” depends a lot on one’s own reasons for being here, I suspect. If your idea of contribution is polluting as many threads as you can with dozens of variations on the same screen-cluttering jeremiad, I can see why you’d look down your nose at elucidator’s style, which to me suggests H. L. Mencken—hacked with an axe into tiny bits, wrapped in butcher paper and occasionally dropped anonymously into the mail. He’s contributed plenty to my own experience on this board: ranging from laughter to professional envy to the occasional groan.

I always try and read with SOME ‘comprehensoin’. Here is what you said though:

Perhaps you are using some other definition? What you are saying from my perspective is that the pit is my environment…QED I’m in the pit a lot.
Now, if you meant something else perhaps you could write a bit more verbosely to convey that instead of suggesting that I attempt to read your, um, mind?
What is amusing (to me…but hey, I amuse easily, ehe?) is that you chose to quote my entire post (consisting of several paragraphs, I will note in passing…the key point however being that obviously you DO know how to use quote tags. Hint for the future: try using them when you cite things instead of just a link, ehe? After you work that part out maybe you could also embellish your posts with some thoughts as to why you chose the link and why what you are now quoting is important for us to read.) and respond to one part of it with a single sentence. Granted my own posts are overly long perhaps…but couldn’t you have just quoted the relevant part of MY post and then done your standard one liner?
As a further suggestion…get yourself a copy of Firefox 2.0 for your browser. It has a built in spell checker. Since your posts generally consist of one liners it shouldn’t be TOO much of a strain to at least correct the mis-spellings. Punctuation, syntax and sentence structure are less of a worry with one line posts…but come on gonzo, you could spell check one friggin line of text, no?

Are you really so stupid that you think your post actually does more than shout ‘CLUELESS’ to everyone in that thread?? You would seriously be better off just shutting up and actually reading what some of the others in that thread are saying. Granted, you figure I don’t know what the hell I’m saying…fine. But try and listen to what the majority of OTHER posters in that thread have to say.
