You guys keep talking about it in the past tense.
I wasn’t. I knew you could still buy it. I don’t know why anyone would.
ETA, man, it has increased in price.
These are great for that toddler stage where they want to do it themselves but they don’t have the coordination to use a spoon or fork without a major mess. Especially good for lunch.
They didn’t have these when my kids were little. They also didn’t have applesauce and yogurt in pouches that could be sucked from.
My littlest boy lived on these last summer.
He is 21 and worked the summer on a landscape crew. Hard and hot work. He would grab 4 or 5 out of the freezer when he left in the morning and by lunch they were good to go. Easy energy and he said he never got tired of them.
The lil’wrekker likes the uncrustables and hot pockets. They’re probably her favorite foods. Oh, except for Taco bell. I buy them for her dorm fridge.
When you’re working all day on landscaping, anything tastes good.
Yeah, I never quite understood the peanut butter and mayo thing people do. For “weird” peanut butter sandwiches, I like peanut butter and pickles, especially spicy pickles. It’s a nice mix of sweet, salty, hot, sour that works really well for me. With PB & mayo, I suppose maybe the acidity of the mayo give the sandwich a similar type of zing, but I’ve never really enjoyed it because it also adds, as you say, unnecessary oiliness.
My dad claimed his favorite sandwich was peanut butter, pickles and mayo. I never saw him eat one, but I think that was out of respect for the tender sensibilities of everyone else in the family, as we found the idea horrifying.
The jar looks familiar, and I’m pretty sure I tried the chocolate version, tho I don’t recall the product name. The jar, however, is in one of my sewing machine drawers, full of buttons.
You mean Johnny Depp?
Ha! I have a ‘dippity-do’ jar full of buttons. That’s a memory, right there.
