I like my PB&J with grape jelly. Welch’s Concord Grape, to be exact. White bread, creamy peanut butter. I think it’s Skippy, but I’m too lazy to go check.
Anyway, how do you like yours?

I’m with you all the way. White bread, Welch’s Concord Grape Jelly, and Creamy peanut butter. (Peter Pan, Jif, Skippy - all good.). Chunky peanut butter is a definite no-no.
The only variety I ever indulge in is to grill them on rare occasion. Just like you’d do a grilled cheese. It becomes an entirely different tasting sandwich though.

[li]fresh white bread[/li][li]Welch’s Grape Jelly (not that I’m specifically opposed to the Concord GJ, it just doesn’t do anything extra for me)[/li][li]Jif creamy[/li][li]cut diagonally, crust on[/li][li]tall glass of cold milk[/li][/ul]
I am willing to provide my time-tested method for finding the freshest bread in the grocery store if anyone is curious
I’m with you on the grape jelly. I can even go with the white bread, although all I buy is wheat. And I keep my bread in the refrigerator, so it’s a close call between toasting and non-toasting the bread.
But…creamy peanut butter? Heathens. Not just chunky, but extra-chunky is the way to go.
Refrigerated bread and extra-chunky peanut butter?
Dude, no wonder all your kind are extinct.
Yup. White bread, Welch’s grape jelly, but it has to be Peter Pan crunchy peanut butter. Wash it down with an ice cold glass of skim milk.
A very neat alternative I accidentally discovered — If you have access to Moravian love feast buns, they make a WONDERFUL peanut butter sandwich (just the bun and peanut butter; NO jelly.)
Grape Jam…its easier to spread…either that or Raspberry Jam…
Keith
I don’t eat peanut butter. The last time I ate peanuts I threw up. I was six at the time and I haven’t liked peanuts since…
I like strawberry jelly sandwiches, or Welch’s grape.
Speaking of grapes, I believe that the only proper way to drink grape juice is with a twisty straw.
Well, if you know the scheme used by the particular baker, you can find it without problem. The color of the twistie or the closure tag will tell you the day it was baked. One popular scheme is:
[ul][li]Monday = Blue[/li][li]Tuesday = Green[/li][li]Thursday = Red[/li][li]Friday = White[/li][li]Saturday = Yellow[/ul][/li]Not all producers use the same scheme, but it doesn’t take long to figure it out. Also, you should only see two different colored tags of any one type of bread at any given time. Anything older should have been thrown out already.
The preceeding has been brought to you by http://www.snopes.com and the letter “Q.”
Dyno, extra-crunchy peanut butter is almost as bad as orange juice with pulp.

oh Dyno…
I knew there was something off about you
[ul]the perfect PB&J:
[li]white squoooshy bread[/li][li]creamy peanut butter, on both pieces of bread[/li][li]grape jam (blackberry is okay, but only in times of crisis)[/ul][/li]
press the edges of the bread together, making a big jam pocket
YUM!
When I was in 3rd grade, I ate a PB&J for lunch every day. My teacher once told me she had a dream that I turned into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Racists. The lot of you.

( Kidding! )
*Fresh white squishy, mushy bread. The kind of bread that’s so fresh and soft it turns into a glop of glutton and sticks to the rough of my mouth.
*Peanut butter, is peanut butter, is peanut butter. Like ketchup and gasoline, it’s all the same to me. Any brand is good. Even store brands or generics.
*Smooth or crunchy. It doesn’t matter to me.
*Peanut butter must be spread on THICK
*Any flavor jam or jelly is ok by me, but even better…
*spread the PB thickly on a piece of bread, fold the bread over, shove the entire thing into my mouth, wash down with beer or Coca Cola classic. Ahhhhhhhh…
Mmm mmm mmm . . .
My favorite sandwich is strawberry preserves with extra big strawberry chunks plus a thick layer of pimento cheese, all between two slices of raisin bread. Oh, and don’t forget the extra sour pickle spears.
Umm, where’s the peanutty goodness?
PB&J heretic.
I like grapes and white wine. That’s about it, so you weirdos with your grape jelly fetish can get the heck away from me RIGHT NOW, please Will use almost anything else, though - apple butter, strawberry, raspberry. Honey is a particular favorite.
Peanut butter must be Jiff Extra Crunchy. Bread I’m ambivalent about, but I don’t buy white bread at all so it usually ends up being wheat.
Wonderbread, crunchy Jif peanut butter and peach preserves.
Or Wonderbread, crunchy Jif peanut butter and sliced ripe banana.
Or Wonderbread, crunchy Jif peanut butter and plain M&Ms.
All chased with nice, cold (non-skim) milk.
Robin
That’s in my second-favorite sandwich: whipped peanut butter spread with sour cream and two slices of onion on a hard roll.
I love Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches.
For me I go in spurts, sometimes I want cruncy PB, sometimes creamy, I’m not fussy about brands. Currently in my cupboard: Jif Creamy and Store brand (Fry’s) Crunchy.
I like jams or preserves instead of jelly though. Plum is a particular favourite of mine, but hard to find. So I usually get strawberry or raspberry.
I don’t like white bread and usually get Honey Nut n’ Oat.
I especially like to have a nice bowl of popcorn as a side dish to my sandwich. There’s something about the flavours that mix really well.
Sometimes I go crazy and leave off the jam and add honey. MMMmmmmMMM Peanut butter and honey sandwiches.
