Peanutbutter Sandwiches

My son and I eat PB and J for lunch more than I’d like to admit, and I was wondering what other people do with this delicacy. I myself am partial to the PB and Strawberry Jam with Banana Slices version. My mother is a PB mixed with Kayro Syrup type. Anyone have any unusual versions they’d like to share?

PB with crushed potato chips!

I always ate mine with honey. Man, I would love a PB&H sandwich right now.

Peanut butter spread on a flour tortilla wrapped around a banana. It’s the PB&B Burrito.

I did the PB& Jelly, PB& Bananna, and PB& Honey, but my personal favorite has always been Peanut Butter & Nutella. Tastes kind of like a peanut butter cup. Yum.

Peanut Butter & Fluff for me.

Ooooooh, I never thought of this before! I’ve been trying to find a reason to buy the ooie gooey Nutella and this is a great one!

PB, Fluff, Banana = Banana Fluffernutter! mmmm.

Also extra crunchy PB+honey. mmmm.

And I’m not even all that fond of peanut butter.

Elvis style:
Fried PB and banana sandwiches.

Some people will think “eew, gross” and to them I say, get over it. It’s no different than a grilled cheese; the “fried” is what scares people off, I think. That, and the fact that Elvis died of them…

Ideally:

First you take a spoonful of Peter Pan Peanut Butter*, shmooth, and spread it artfully over one piece of Mrs. Baird’s Whole Wheat or Split-Top Honey Wheat bread.

Then you take the spoon and dip a heaping spoonful of homemade strawberry, muscadine, peach, raspberry, or pear jelly and carefully spread it over the second slice.

Taking all due caution, you lift the slice holding the peanut butter and place it gently atop the jellied slice, being sure that the crusts line up perfectly.

Now you lick the spoon clean. If you live alone, or nobody is looking, you take another spoonful of peanut butter and eat it quickly.

Next you lift the sandwich by holding the edge, taking care not to squeeze the middle causing the gelatinous fruit to ooze out from the confines of the bread and onto your fingers or the counter top.

Take your first, large bite from one corner of the bread, pausing to savor the taste before consuming the sandwich with gusto. Lick your lips. Take another spoonful of peanut butter, but this time also add more jelly to the spoon.

If some of the sweet fruit is to spill onto your fingers, it is acceptable to lick your fingers. However, you must do this mindfully, as your instincts might cause you to bite. That would hurt. Trust me.
*As I’ve established in lengthy hijack of several threads here and at Opal’s 3F, Peter Pan, shmooth is the pinnacle of peanut butter enjoyment and is endorsed by Jesus.

I prefer to use grape jelly on my PBJs. I hate the little strawberry bits they put into strawberry jelly.

Yumm…I could go for about 50 of those right now. It really sticks to the top of your mouth though.

Peanut Butter & Maple Syrup on hot pancakes - yummmmy

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM…PB&J! No doubt one of God’s greatest gifts to the world. I like grape, strawberry and apple jelly equally. Of course PB&MarshmallowFluff goes without saying as one of the greatest all time sammiches. Same goes for peanut butter, banana and mayonnaise. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Of course, we all wash em down with a glass of ice cold milk, right? Cuz anything else would make the baby Jesus weep.

OK I restrained myself so far but for the sake of this Aussie’s sanity what is Fluff?

In anticipation of enlightenment - Thanks

As a kid, I hated jams and jellies, so my sandwhich of choice was peanut butter and butter. And not margarine–real butter. The butter helps it slide down better. And of course, it had to be cut diagonally twice to form triangles. Crusts were okay, though.

As I’ve grown older and matured, it’s still my sandwhich of choice. Although I’m willing to put other stuff on it. Apple butter’s a good choice.

PB& Honey for me too.
When I was a kid I liked PB& Sugar.

You’re kidding - no Marshmallow Fluff down under?

It’s liquified marshmallow, about the consistency of very, very sticky peanut butter. Full of delicious air bubbles.

As a kid I was never very particular about what kind of jelly or jam was used on my PB&J, with a notable exception for green mint jelly.

As an adult I’m more fond of peanut butter with pepper and cheese. Kraft Singles.

I just had my first one, on your recommendation.

Will you marry me?
