I’m in the process of completing a move from the States to Hong Kong, and would like recommendations of good local blogs. The sort of thing I’m looking for are blogs that combine social/political/cultural comment with a dose of humor. Not sites devoted to children’s exploits or mere stream of consciousness stuff.
Any ideas?

Much obliged to you for that. In the meantime I checked out some expat sites over here and got some other recommendations. The best so far appears to be Ulaca, a lawyer who some compare to Hemlock’s blog in style, but who provides rather more of a varied diet. Actually, now I’ve seen it, Hemlock’s description of Ulaca as “erudite and literate” is on the money. What he doesn’t mention is that he can be very funny too. His “review” of *The Bourne Ultimatum * is comic gold
