One of my brothers is interested in reading and contributing to political blogs. He has been hearing about them, and thinks it sounds interesting. He’s interested in them not only for the political debate, but also as a cultural phenomenon and for their potential widespread impact. So today he asks me where the “well known” bloggers go. I had no idea.
Is there a place where the political heavy-hitters hang out? Or anyplace you’d recommend for good political discussion?
I recommended our own Great Debates board, but he’s specifically interested in seeing the ones that get national play.
Damn! :smack: I thought I searched, but I missed that. Must have had brain blink for a second there.
Thanks for the link.
Two Hong Kong ones that I read (and in the former case contribute to) are fumier, hosted by a lego-accountant type figure who drives a Merc. Very interactive, generates a lot of discussion, and hemlock, a non-interactive diary by someone whose knowledge of local politics is matched only by that of the city’s girlie bars.
For some strange reason, not yet revealed to me, this fellow (also a Doper) didn’t much care for one of my books, giving it not one but two less than glowing reviews.
He also has an irrational hang-up about glossolalia.
Googling ‘fumier’, I found that this chap’s blog was the first search result. Does this reflect no. of hits or does one have to pay Google for the privilege?
Though the Hotline is subscription only - alot of DC types read it because it gives insight into what’s hot and what’s not in the blogoshere. Hotline is a part of The National Journal
Thanks for the link, John. Interesting. I’ll check it out further when I have more time.
