This is important. There are other strange creatures living in British Columbia other than hoop snakes and die-hard Socreds. The tree octopus, for instance.
–oh my bad…ok I understand…and thanks for reminding me…![]()
say what??..:dubious:
like i said, it’s not me who’s gonna hunt the hoop snake but them. My part is to confirm whether the reward still exist to this day, and if so, then I just have to know how to claim it supposing they captured the snake. If there is no reward, there will be no hunt. I’m not going to participate in the hunt but them. That’s all. Whether it’s a guy with the dry ice and motorcycle or an alchemist or a snake oil peddler or anybody is not for me to know. Until I can confirm about the reward, then they will not hunt it yet. If there’s anyone here who knows how can I contact any associates of Raymond Ditmars or has a knowledge about the reward, then please message me.
–so are you implying that hoop snakes really exist in British Columbia??
–
tree octopus…I suppose I wasn’t paying much attention…![]()
Perhaps a Tasmanian Tiger is what you want. The Bulletin magazine offered a reward of $1.25 million for the capture of a live one. At least we know they did exist- the last one died in 1936.
Sadly, the Bulletin is now as extinct as the Tasmanian Tiger.
Why does it matter? If the hoop snake doesn’t exist, why does the supposed reward for finding it have to exist? It’s not like someone is going to catch this imaginary creature.
Perhaps the skeptics on the board can put their money where their mouth is. I am totally serious about this
I will get the ball rolling (as it were) and pledge $100.00 towards a reward for the live capture of a Philippines Hoop Snake.
If you actually caught a hoopsnake, the discovery channel and every other sensationalist media source would trample an orphanage to throw money at you. Why worry about some antiquated reward when you can get loads more if you just capture one of the darn things?
And how will you know if one has actually been captured? Videos are easily faked.
If you can actually find a hoop snake, $10,000 is pocket change compared to what you could make off that. You should be more concerned with finding the hoop snake than collecting a reward that is likely to be as fictional as the snake itself. And it should be much easier to get a photograph or video than to capture one alive or dead. Considering the insistence of your friends on the existence of these creatures, they’re taking a long time coming up with the proof.
In the meantime, pay attention to this board. I’ll be offering a reward for finding a Jackelope before long. Note that proper spelling is part of claiming the reward.
I’d put in a couple of hundred to see a half-jackel/half-calliope.
So, have you seen one of these ubiquitous “hoop snakes” yourself, or are you relying on your “friend”'s word that they are all over the place?
Sounds like a scam to get money out of you to me.
Yeah. I’ll say the same to you…pal. ![]()
I’m in Metro Manila although I’ve been out to a few of the provinces, never seen a snake of any description, although I’ve not exactly been looking.
I do wonder if you’re not being conned, or led on, by your friend. I’d definitely go with the no money up front, catch it first (or at least see if live for yourself) then publicize and wait for the hordes.
It looks to me like maybe his friend is getting conned by the guys who claim they will catch the snake.
I’m in for $100. Honestly. But why not pledge the whole amount? There’s no such thing so there’s no risk.
OP, In this day of video phones and YouTube don’t you think someone would have captured one on video by now if they really existed? I applaud your faith in your “friend” but I have a hard time believing you are not just pulling our collective leg.
Trying to find some archaic reward just doesn’t make sense. As noted upthread, catch one and the world will beat a path to your door.
I’ll ask a favor of you. When you discover that your friend is wrong or is just teasing with you, will you be man enough to come here and post that you were wrong?
–what I want is to confirm the reward for the hoop snake. No reward=no hunt.
If there is a reward, then the next thing I want to know is how to claim it suppose they capture one. That’s all.
My thoughts exactly. That’s why I want to confirm it since Raymond Ditmars already passed away. That’s what I want to know. Somebody posted a link here and I’ve read that THERE IS STILL a reward for hoop snake, but I’m not that sure. If they already canceled the reward then of course there’s no reason to hunt it. So if you know something, just feel free to message me.
