Good first dates

So, I have my first date in a while next weekend… and I’ve been out of the game for a while, so I was hoping for good suggestions for a first date. Something fun, and maybe a little unusual. Ladies, your input would be especially appreciated. Would a game of putt-putt be a big turn-off?

Good first-date stories would also be good.

Thanks,

Tim

Dinner & a movie, as boring as that sounds, worked for my wife & I.

We went to see *Jurassic Park * in the movie theatres together. Turned out that it was no longer playing in that theatre, so we went to * Joy Luck Club * instead. Then we had to do a second date to see *Jurassic Park *.

We’ve been together for 10 years now…

I personally love miniature golf, so that would be fun – sound her out as to whether that’s her idea of a good time or not.

One of the best first dates I ever had was to an outdoor performing arts festival – we wandered around, listened to the bands, watched the dancers, etc. The relationship never went anywhere, but there was plenty of opportunity to talk, and also plenty of opportunity to not talk – both are good, I think.

There really ain’t nothin’ wrong with dinner and a movie, though.

Twicks, with decades of experience of first dates…:frowning:

Miniature golf sounds like a fun first date. I’d nix the move idea, because you don’t have much of an opportunity to talk and get to know each other at a movie. Dinner is good, but I’d go casual there. My very favorite first date was spent hiking and exploring America’s Stonehenge in New Hampshire. Like Twickster said of the outdoor performing arts festival, it provided plenty of opportunity for talking and also plenty for not. This relationship never went anywhere either, but it was a wonderful experience.

I had a really great first date at a Rennaissance Faire. I’d never been before, and neither had he. It was really fun, once we lost the “shocked” impression. I’d like to go again, but I think it would give my (current and forever) SO a conniption fit.
