You're favorite "First Date" place

I am sitting here watching the ever so lovely show (hehe) Blind Date and was wondering what are some of your favorite places for a first date.

If you are married, maybe it’s a place you enjoy hanging out as a couple that never gets tiring.

Since it’s been ages since a first date for me, I can’t really respond but maybe some of you can give me some ideas if the opportunity presents its self.

Hmmm, when i was into the dating scene i always prefered the Road Trip first date. Just hop in the car, grab a nice early dinner someplace, then take a long road trip to talk and get to know a little about each other. That’s with the mandatory stops along the way by any kinda of stream or lake and check out the wildlife.

      • I took a girl to a shooting range and she had a great time: I happened to find out that it was something she hadn’t done before. We had known each other for a while though, just hadn’t dated- so she wasn’t totally wierded out by the whole thing. - I think that parks with hiking trails or paths are good too, esecially if it’s just a “hang-out” date with a girl I’m not too hot for. (I separate dates into “hang-out” dates and “might-get-somethin’” dates, and I tend to go different places for each. I’m also less picky about who I take on “hang-out” dates; I spend less money on the date and I don’t expect much more than someone to talk to.) - MC

Nowadays, I have to say a public place, with plenty of witnesses.

Generally someplace like Chili’s or T.G.I.Fridays, where you can be casual and talk for a couple of hours. I try to save the more elaborate plans for a later date.

Outdoor cafés in the summer. Not expensive, no pressure, you don’t have to sit and watch each other eat, you have more chance of actually talking while tasting sweet desserts. Just did this few nights ago. Went extremely well. First BLIND date for me actually.

Putt-Putt! loads of fun and you can laugh at each other when you can’t play.

I Usually just go for a walk along the seashore or the bayshore with them. So I can give them lots of attention.
For them its more of a deaf Blind Date…but hey.

Art museum. Or asian history museum. After that nice romantic french restuarant.

Hubby took me to the midnight premier of “Aliens 3” on our first date! He knew I loved the series. We sat in the front row.

We didn’t know it was our first date (we were “just friends”) until we started holding hands during a scary part.

It was all downhill from there!

The back seat.

I love Blind Date! It’s one of mine & my BF’s guilty pleasures (yes, he watches it with me)-- and we love to play “name the place” since most of the shows are filmed around the Los Angeles area.

My favorite First Date place? It has to be The Derby nightclub. They play swing, jazz, and jump blues, it’s tastefully decorated, and if you’re lucky, you get a very cozy booth with purple velvet drapes (if you want to see what it looks like, rent Swingers–it’s the club the guys are at near the end of the movie–the one where Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is playing). The club is attached to an Italian restaurant, so you can order dinner there, too. Very nice place to go.

Well, I like lunch or coffee, instead of an evening thing. It feels more casual, and the ending point seems a little less, I dunno, I can’t express it.

A guy once asked me to go to the park with him to let his dogs run. That was a good one.

This makes for a pressure-filled FIRST date, but not a bad early date in the relationship: my friends and I used to get together to play Balderdash or Pictionary or Trivial Pursuit. It really takes your mind off the “date” and you get to see a great side of each other. My husband fell in love with me at a Pictionary party, although he says the tight sweater I was wearing had as much to do with it as my competitive nature and ridiculous drawings.

McDonald’s. Boy howdy, you find a girl who’ll go on a second date with you after you take her to McDonalds, you got yerself a keeper.

My first “date” with Brian was to a sports bar where we both watched football and ate bar food and steak to our hearts content. We still go there all the time, and we’ll probably be there even more now that football season is right around the corner.

One date took me to an amusement park. As a first date, it was great. We never ended up dating seriously, but it was a great afternoon. We liked all the same rides, and we laughed the whole time.

The two-top restaurant at the top of the TransAmerica Pyramid, but you have to get reservations waaaay in advance.

Wow, I must be the only one who likes to get to know a woman well on the first date by not having any distractions so I can concentrate on her every word. sigh.

Bowling…
Love to take a girl bowling. It is very fun and entertaining and still gives you lots of time to talk.

Plus if things are going well you can “bet” on who pays for the second date! Hey it worked for me and the new (one month) missus!
