Me: I love turn based strategy games, and a good dungeon romp.
My wife: she loves “realistic” games like Wii Sports.
We have: a Wii, 4 Pc’s.
I tried to talk her into the Wii Fit or Wii Resort, but she’s not into it. I think Mario Kart Wii is ok, but not worth buying the Wii for it.
Any suggestions?
Well, none of the Wii games I’m going to suggest fall into either of those categories you like, but I still consdier them very good:
Metroid Prime 3/Metroid Prime Trilogy: Best game on the Wii. The Trilogy is only like $10 more, but you get, as the name implies, three full games. It’s the first two Prime games redone with Wii controls, and the third Prime game.
Guitar Hero/Rock Band: Yeah, they’re better on the PS3/360 because it’s easier to DL songs on them, but if you only have a Wii and have no intention of getting one of the other two, they are still two fun series of games.
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
Super Mario Galaxy: 3D platforming at it’s best. Or so I hear, I’ve never played it myself.
New Super Mario Brothers Wii: Coming out soon, it’s 2 D (2.5D) platforming, with up to 4 player simultaneous. All the previews make it look like a LOT of fun. If you played New Super Mario Brothers for the DS, it’s basically that, with prettier graphics and four people at once.
And why doesn’t she want Wii Resort if she likes Wii Sports? It’s basically more of the same, with even better motion recognition.

I’m confused. Who are you trying to buy games for? Her? You? Trying to find something that you’d both like? What?
Also, how it is possible to like Wii Sports but not Wii Sports Resort? Can two games in the same genre get any closer together?
