I just worked my first full day in months. Not real, paying, work, my friend needed some exterior trim work rebuilt on his house before it gets painted. 8 hours of labor outside in 85 degrees. I used to build stuff all day long for weeks on end. I need a couple days of couch right now.
Gonna need some ramp-up time if I ever get back to my shop.
Were you doing this sort of work every day, or at least every day of the season, before Covid? Or had you not done it in years?
I can see where it would be a shock to the body after not doing it for years! A little less so if it was just a few months off. Then again, going from no work to 85 degrees for 8 hours is not fun!
It’s probably WAY less easy when you’re not getting paid, too!!
Oh I’d been doing it every day, but 4 months of ass-sitting got me out of shape. Unfortunately, my company builds museum exhibits, and ain’t nobody going to museums these days, and museums aren’t looking for new stuff, so it’ll be awhile before we get back to work.
