I’m not a great connoisseur of Indian food, but I do like it, and I’ve heard that there are some very good Indian restaurants on the Eastside – Redmond? Bellevue? Can anyone recommend a place? I’m looking for something on the informal and reasonably priced side.

About 9 years ago when I lived there the best Indian place was said to be at the Crossroads mall in Bellevue. I ate there twice and enjoyed it and I was pretty unfamiliar with Indian food at the time, I have no idea if it is still considered the “best.”
It’s not the food court place–although that mall is actually known for having an excellent food court*, but the restaurant on the movie theater side of the mall.
*Seriously. The bbq place in the mall won Best BBQ in Seattle in 2003 or 2004 iirc.
If you’re thinking of Udupi Palace (I think that’s what it was called) then it closed a few years ago and restaurant called Oh! India replaced it. I’ve only been to Oh! India once but found it bland/mediocre.
I like Mayuri and Taj Palace. I also like the Indian pizza at Can-Am Pizza.
