Anyone else watching the Highlander reruns on TNT (Or Spike, or The First Network for Men, or whatever it is)? It’s the first time I’ve seen most of the episodes, and I’m loving it. Granted, it’s kind of cheesy at points, and the fact that Duncan is always on the side of Light and Truth and Justice and Freedom gets annoying, but the blatent HoYay between Duncan and Methos makes it all worthwhile, as do the hot men in period clothes.
So, is anyone else watching?
Have you seen the original movie? If not, you should. Much more entertaining than the television series, imho.
Yes and no. I don’t have cable (or broadband TV), so I’m getting the DVDs as they are released. Season 2 was just released today. I pre-ordered and it already shipped so I should have my copy by the end of the week. It’s a great show. I like Methos but I really like Hugh Fitzcairn (played by the awesome Roger Daltry, singer from The Who) and the way he works with MacLeod.
This series used to be one of my favorites and I was glad when I found out that it was going to be rerun… Although it isn’t one of my favorites anymore, I watch it sometimes… I have seen several episodes from when it was on the Sci-Fi channel… (I think…) The plot line can get a little thin and even a little annoying sometimes but seeing Duncan McCleod of the Clan McCleod brandishing his sword makes it all worth while…
And I love it when they put in the “memory” shots where the people are in period costume…
I thought the series was much better than all of the movies put together, though Endgame wasn’t too bad. I loved the original film, but the TV show really nailed things down well. Great characters, situations, and where else can you get people holding grudges for hundreds of years?
One of my favorite TV shows ever. Saw it before I saw any of the movies, and am glad I did. Many more fun characters, Methos being the coolest.

This ep was amazingly slashy. “What brings a 5000-year-old man back to me?” Wuv, Duncan, twu wuv. And Methos looks adorable with paint on his nose like that.
It seems like they were pretty lazy with the Buzz this ep, though. Richie and Duncan don’t sense Methos coming in? Kristen and Richie don’t sense Duncan walking towards them? Sloppy.
Flustered!Duncan is so cute. And he has a nice ass, too.
sigh I think it’s safe to say that Duncan was my first celebrity crush. Though he’s not particularly non-fictional or anything. It doesn’t matter; just so long as I can look at him.
Has anyone seen the new show on SciFi starring the guy who plays Duncan, though? The first time I saw the previews for it I thought, “Blasphemy! They’ve cut off his hair! Where’s his sword? Blasphemy!”

They are releasing Highlander the series on DVD?!?!? Where, please could you provide a link I can order those from? I loved that series. To be able to watch them all in order would be great!

So, tonight we met Alexa and Claudia Jardine, and saw Duncan in drag. I don’t think that there could possibly be a less convincing woman than Duncan was - the chest hair and stubble added nothing, either. I love Alexa because Methos does, and he looks adorable doing so. Claudia’s a brat and a dummy to run around without any protection.
