Say, do ya suppose we will ever see the damn sun again for the remainder of this summer?
Cuz, y’know, this terrarium living is bringin’ me down!

you ain’t kiddin’!
I could do without the train delays because of floods too. (Yesterdays 18 mile commute: 2hours, 45 minutes) I think I could have walked home faster. If I start growing mold on my lawn again like this past spring, I’m definitely going to start looking at other places to live.
Good afternoon from London where its about 29/30C
Wanna swop?
I that about 100F? then hell yeah I’d swap.
you’re welcome to it - its horrible. i’m all sweaty.
Roll on winter…
Absolutely. Its too warm, and sticky. Oh for some cooling rain
I got caught in that fire-hose downpour last night. I was so clever and brought my galoshes to work: I stepped outside into the rapids, and the galoshes promptly filled to the brim with water, and stayed that way till I got home.
Ick.
Yep another August here in NYC.
Hot and muggy.
Nearly two hours to get home to the northern Bronx last night. 25 minutes stuck between 59th and 86th on the 4 train, with a 20 minute layover in the steambath of the 125th St. platform.
Medical emergency at 68th, fire at Brook Ave., flooding and signal problems. No room for me to even turn the pages of my newspaper, so I got to listen to screaming toddlers the whole time. Although there was an adorable good baby next to me who played with my fingers too.
This morning, however, was a breeze–1 hour from home to 26th St. Karma.
Hate this weather and not looking forward to my gym class tonight.
What about all of us who don’t need weather to ruin our commutes?
So lucky am I to live at the very bottom of the N line. Second worst line of them all, y’know. And, just to add to the fun, the MTA switched it up yesterday, so I can add another hour to my commute! Yay!
Here’s how bad the N line is: I used to live on the G. I miss the speed and convenience of it.
Hey, Mehitabel, I was doing that too! Except here’s how mine went: I took the 1/9 to the 2, which was flooded at 96th so they kicked us off at 72nd and made us walk to the C, took that to 145 to 161 and THEN waited 40 minutes for the 4.
And here I was beating myself up because I could’ve been one of those ‘lucky’ people on the 4 line…
Heh. I love the Q
This weather blows. I am so tempted to drive to LaGuardia and purchase a one-way ticket to Miami.
Well, I left at 9 last night, hopped on the J train (station is right across the street). After a mercifully short wait, got on the train, travelled through picturesque East New York and made it home - about 50 minutes. Rain even stopped so I could walk my 6 blocks in comfort from the station.
This morning at 8 repeated the same in the opposite direction. Had to stand, but that’s minor. I sit on my behind most of the day anyway.
