I got a friend the original book for Christmas. Said friend was the guy who once prepared an authentic Roman feast (although he skimped on the dormice

How weird! I go to lileks.com at least once a week, just for fun. I was there, I believe it was Thursday or Friday (not sure…my week ran together because I was sick every day) and clicked on the dayalets link, and it took me to “page not found”. (A funny one, though!)

Back when I got it, I argued with a friend about whether the drawings (uncredited) were by Jack Kirby, who drew the FF back then (created them, in fact, from Stan Lee’s script). We concluded that he did – those characters had Jack Kirby mouths.
But there are Big-Little books a lot worse than these from the late 60s. I know. I got 'em.
Hey! The Invaders wasn’t Irwin Allen – it was Quinn Martin. It had the “Prolog” and four “Acts” and an “Epilog”.
And I love the awful drawing of Roy Thinnes, too.
