Good News, Everyone...Futurama is Returning!

Finally, 10 years after its last episode, Hulu will be producing 20 new episodes of Futurama. I’ve been hoping this would happen for quite some time.

Unfortunately, John DiMaggio (Bender) may not return. It seems as though they’re still negotiating with him, but are prepared to recast the role if necessary. That would not be good news, everyone. (But I’ll still watch, of course.)

A quick note about the article I liked to above…There’s an awesome correction at the end: “Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified Leela as an alien. She is in fact a sewer mutant. The error has been corrected.” I’m glad they cleared THAT up!

This is good news.

I have no strong feelings about this, one way or the other.

All I know is my gut says maybe.

Were you guys just born with hearts full of neutrality?

Holy crap, this has to be the 3rd or 4th resurrection of Futurama, not that I’m complaining.

My 16 year old will be glad to hear this-- he loves that show.

Or he used to, at least; he may have moved on in his likes by now.

Love the show, but it definitely hit diminishing returns over its various reincarnations. I’ll be interested to see who’s in the writing room.

Yeah. I never got into the Comedy Central episodes and Groening-property Disenchantment was a big dud for me. So I’ll check this out but I’m not going to get my hopes up that it’ll reclaim the Fox-era highs.

Yeah, I headed over to the Hulu folks and gave them the Stare.

I think Seth Rogan could pull off Bender. He’s probably too expensive though.

Sure, if you get him sober enough.

This might be the thing that finally pushes me into signing up for Hulu.

You can always sign up for 2-3 months and then discontinue again. Lately I subscribe to Netflix only about half the time.

I’m walking on sunshine.

This is gonna be fun on the bun.

I’m Back, Baby!

Any revival is doomed** without him. I hope he and Hulu are able to come to terms.

Jam a bastard in it, you crap! Oops, sorry, that just slipped out.

Cautiously looking forward to it. The last two iterations had their moments, but the original writers had left and I mostly wasn’t thrilled.

UPDATE: John DiMaggio has finally signed on for the reboot. So the entire original cast is back, baby!

If I may quote the great philosopher Slurms McKenzie: “Wimmy Wam-Wam Wozzle!”
