Good news from Pennsylvania!

I just turned on Fox News and learned that all nine of the miners that have been trapped since Wednesday are alive and relatively well. It is believed that within two or three hours that they will be coming out of the little chamber where they have been trapped. I don’t have an online link yet but there is probably already one out there somewhere. Just wanted to let folks know. Isn’t this great!?!?!?

When they’ve pulled the last miner out, can we send Geraldo Rivera back down and seal that sucker up?

YES!!!

happy dances

That is such fantastic news I feel like I could just cry. Finally some good news.

i heard on the news that he saw his shadow and we are going to have six more weeks of the stock market going down

Just tell him there is a camera at the bottom of the shaft. He will go in on his own. If that doesn’t work, mention that Al Capone was a coal miner.

Geraldo aside, it is very nice to see this have a happy ending.

 wha? happy news for once?

I literally couldn’t believe this. I’ve been so pessimistic for the past fews days, but I guess miracles can happen. I’m just so happy for their families!

Yes, this is great news!!!

Yea! Miners!!! Whoo-hoo!! number six up now!

I’m with The Wrong Girl (and how many times have I thought that before?); I was pretty much assuming they were digging for bodies. I’m amazed and thrilled that those guys are coming out. I loved the miner who’d been working for 48 hours straight and then got put in front of the cameras, who said something like, “I’m not surprised! Coal miners are the toughest SOBs in the world!”

The sixth miner’s been pulled up, and I’m in tears. God, this is so wonderful, I can’t help but cry.

What brave men!

Yeah, this is an uplifting story, nice for a change on a Saturday night

Now that all are safe (well, just about) I hope to look forward to quite an inspirational story when the miners are interviewed. Judging from the appearance of the sixth man rescued, who looked like an apeman covered in soot, they had a horrible experience down there. It must have taken a tremendous effort just to survive, to keep hope going in a situation like that. Inspirational stuff.

Of course, let’s all keep our fingers crossed for them, 2 of the miners have been airlifted to the hospital and the others have gone by ambulance.

Number seven has just come up.

And Geraldo(who’s feed had been lost)is back on the air

Well, one out of two is okay.

They’re all out!!!

Such good news to hear today!

Happy endings, happy link.

All over but the shouting–annnnd…the Monday-morning quarterbacking, and the fingerpointing, and the buck-passing, and the pontificating, and the “analysis by experts”.

Until the next crisis sweeps it all off America’s radar.

Anybody else remember “Baby Jessica down a well”?

I’m such a cynic.

I’m just waiting for Dubya to claim credit for the rescue and somehow blame it on “evildoers …”

Any bets this rescue will be made into a sleazy, tear-jerker made-for-TV movie?

I like getting news here better than TV reporters don’t go Whoohoo!
