Will the movie Good Omens ever be made? I’m pretty doubtful, but maybe somebody out there has heard something new.

According to Gilliam, funding has all but fallen through. It’s not dead, it’s on life support, as his metaphor went.
Really quite a shame…
Good Omens by Terry Gilliam!! That would be great!!!
Umm…I’ve got twenty bucks they could have…
Would it be complete heresy if I said I’d like to see it made with Clooney as Crowley?
If only because he seems to be able to get anything made.
Dammit, now I’m casting in my head.
Oh god, now I’ve got a horrible vision of Jake Lloyd (Star Wars Episode 1 Anakin) as Adam! Must scrub brain!
Good Omens? Was that the one that was subtitled something like “The Absolutely Neat and Correct Diary of a Witch”? (Or something like that.)
Yes.
Technically:
Aha! Yes, I have that one. I enjoyed it, and hoped it would be made into a film.
If they ever make the movie, I really hope they include the part where the little busybody man (don’t remember his name) meets the entire cast on their way to the nuclear plant. He’d be walking his dog, thinking about all the letters to the editor he was going to be writing over the most trivial complaints, when one or more of the cast members would show up and ask him for directions. I particularly want to see the scene where Crowley pulls up in his burning mazeratti and calmly asks him the way to the nuclear plant.
It was a Bentley. Not a Mazeratti.
Excuse me, young man, but your car is on fire and you’re sitting in it without burning and incidentally it’s red hot in places.
He hee, I could do this all day.
Or unti fair use runs out…
I’ve always pictured it with James Marsters as Crowley and Anthony Stewart Head as Aziraphale, how sad is that?
Nah, you need somebody failry effete and dithering to play Aziraphale, so that would be Hugh Grant. Crowley should be played by someone drop dead sexy but with an undertone of goofiness, so I’d choose Colin Farrell.
Death would have to be CGI and voiced by James Earl Jones.
Much as I love James Earl Jones, I wouldn’t want the Death in Good Omens sounding like Darth Vader. Wrong association there.
I agree with the CGI part, but make the voice Avery Brooks (Capt. Sisko on DS9) or Tim Curry (a la Darkness in Legend), and it’d be a go.
