No sight of Adam or the Four Horsemen so far, but this looks - perfect. Tennant being louche is always a treat, but Michael Sheen is exactly how I always saw Aziraphale. I mean, this *looks *like the book in my head. The soundtrack reference to Queen was a wonderful touch, too.
I loved the book and I can’t wait for this to come out.
Yeah, whatever else one can say, they got the look perfect.
I’m going to cry so hard. I miss Pterry. I know this isn’t all him, but when his stuff is still being read, still being developed, it feels very GNU.
The Bentley! Yes!
Neil is heavily involved with this, so I have high hopes. They certainly have the look down.
I’ve been looking forward to this for so long. Looks promising so far.
I’m keeping my expectations moderate though, that way I’ll enjoy it even if it’s just adequate.
I am SO excited. Like SO EXCITED!!
Looks good. Sadly it is on Amazon, but I can do that.
Given that there isn’t a kid in sight through the whole trailer, I’m wondering how much the story was changed? Though, I could see sticking with the name actors and the parts that are more visual for a trailer, so maybe not meaningful at all.
I’ll have to dissent from the idea that it looks like one would hope. It reminds me of the Pratchett miniseries that were done, looks-wise. And while, granted, Pratchett was one of the authors of Good Omens, they’re set in entirely different universes and should (in theory) have entirely different budgets. One is set in Discworld and the other on the real, modern day Earth; one is financed by some cheap-ass British TV channel and the other by Amazon.
I have no strong objection to the look and I assume that I’ll forget about it as soon as the thing begins, but for the moment it looks just a little too colorful and fake. It’s two men in second-tier wigs with slightly not-great CGI. I feel like they could have and should have done more.
There are definitely changes, but I think the lack of almost everyone other than Crowley and Aziraphale in this trailer is mostly a choice to not overwhelm the potential viewers who don’t already love the book.
All the characters I know and love appear in the cast list at least.
New trailer up, and we have the Bentley, Adam, Anathema and the Four Bikers of the Apoclaypse. Still no sign of People Covered In Fish, but this looks pretty much perfect. And “Under Pressure” gave me shivers.
He was pretty much showrunner and has said that Terry’s death really got him moving forward on this.
I hope it’s just because it’s the trailer and will look better in the actual show, but a lot of the CGI effects look really bad.
In fact, I just checked and Neil Gaiman was showrunner.
OK, I am now officially completely stoked.
And yeah, the effects still look like they need a lot of work, but I can put up with bad effects, and everything else looks perfect.
