Good PalmOS software

I started this thread mainly to rave about Bhajis Loops from Chocopoolp Software. It’s a music sequencing/editing/playout package This is the most incredible, powerful and versatile bit of software I’ve ever seen on any handheld platform; I’m still discovering features every time I use it, but in brief (and as far as I’ve yet discovered), it can:

  • Accept samples in the form of the inbuit midi instruments and .wav files on the expansion card, you can also record samples right there on the device and even just hand-draw the waveform of your sample on the screen using the stylus.
  • Modify samples to create a set of playable instruments - the instrument editor has 17 different control knobs to modify stuff like the attack, decay, sustain, pan, volume, resonance, cutoff, etc.
-Create ‘patterns’ - these are essentially little rythm or riff fragments based on a piano-roll style editor - again, there are just so many options here to control things like vibrato etc.
-Arrange the patterns into loops - this is just a drop-and-click grid metaphor (a bit like Dance Ejay - a PC favourite of mine)
-Arrange a song as a programmed sequence of loops.
-Export the mixed song as .wav or midi.

Really, words cannot do justice to this program. Quite an incredible achievement to fit this all on the Palm computing platform. If you like editing/playing with music, get this program.

Anyone else got any remarkable Palm software they want to rave about?
