I just found out that a very good friend of mine was in a car accident. He lost seven teeth, has a broken jaw, many cuts and bruises, and head trauma. I don’t know what’s going to happen to him. All because of a drunk driver.
I’m not sure how to feel right now. I’m pissed. I’m worried. I’m upset. I don’t want my friend to die. He’s very special to me. He helped me through my best friend’s funeral last April, and I’m so afraid he’s going to die the same way.
I know the girl that hit him. She doesn’t have a license, she was drunk, and she had her infant daughter with her. Thankfully, they are both fine. I’m very angry with her. Not only because of what she’s done to my friend, but because she was so careless.
Absolutely, Daniel, and thank you. Thanks to all of you. I hope to visit my friend in the hospital on Monday. Until then, my chest aches and I feel like I’m going to be sick. Thanks again.
I spoke with another friend of mine today who has been to the hospital. Word is, he’s stable. He’s in a lot of pain but he’s speaking (if you could call it that) and responsive. He had to have surgery. On what, I’m not sure, but I do know he had surgery on his jaw. Added to his injuries are a few broken ribs. But he’s alive and he’ll stay that way. Well not forever, but he won’t die from this. Thank the powers that be.
I had a similar experience on Jan. 1st of this year, my best friend was killed by a drunk driver, the driver was fine (although i didn’t share your happiness at that fact–I decked the guy at the hospital, it didn’t feel any better). All I can say is that I hope you and your friend have better luck than me and mine.
Glad to hear that he’s going to pull through. Stay strong, and I’ll be praying for you both. Take care of yourself too; you’ll be better able to help him through this.

First let me express my sympathy. I know what it’s like and it sucks.
Now, let me address the above quote. I don’t care how careless/stupid/dangerous she was, I’m glad she and her daughther made it out alive. I wouldn’t wish death or severe pain on anyone, I don’t care who it is or what they’ve done. Yes, I’m really pissed off that she was stupid as to take so many lives into her own hands for the sake of alcohol. But that doesn’t mean that I should be angry because she wasn’t hurt and my friend was.
I am so glad to know your friend is going to be OK. Thank God! Oh my gosh…how terrible. All my prayers are with you and your friend, and all my good thoughts.
As far as the stupid drunk driver - no, no one should wish ill for her, but DAMN! What a TWIT! I hope they throw the book at her.
