Does anyone have any recommendations for a good printer to use with 3x5 index cards? I’ve been using my regular printer, but it’s a pain to get the settings right (I use the settings for letter paper, but put everything I want to print in a 3x5 area at the top of the page, then feed each index card in through the feed manually). My preference would be for a printer that could feed index cards automatically. I’ve been looking around but haven’t found anything I like. I know someone out there has to have experience with printing to index cards; any printer preferences?
Please note; although pre-perforated card stock might be the way to go, my preference would be to avoid it due to the expense.
I’ve found it much easier to print them 4-up on a piece of letter-sized cardstock, and then cut them into postcards. I’ve done up to several hundred of them that way, and it’s easier & faster than trying to print individual cards.
I’m using HP Laser printers: HP II, HP4, and HP 1100 & 1200.
I don’t know of any printer that could handle something so small and rigid.
Avery, on the other hand, makes index cards which feed through most printers. They are perforated so that you have to punch them out after printing.
Or you can try finding (or creating) a “carrier” (e.g. a regular sized piece of paper that you can tape the 3 x 5 card to and run it through the printer.
