Are index cards available in any size smaller than 3x5? Ideally I’m looking for cards 3x3 or around there. I’ve browsed around online, found nothing. I’m sick of cutting regular index cards in half!
Blank business cards would work, if I could get them for cheap. Any other ideas?
Post-It notes. Come in lots of sizes and colors. I’m sure they come in 2 by 2 sizes. Not sure about 3 by 3.
Although, there are two major problems with this suggestion. Firstly, I’m not sure that Post-It Notes, even off brand name as really as cheap as you want. And secondly, well, post-it notes are sticky. (And thirdly, post-it note paper is really not as stiff as index cards).
By the way, what are you wanting mini-index cards for? If I may ask.
Almost any small printing shop should be able to cut cards in any size you want, in reasonable quantities, pretty cheaply. You would then get a choice in colour and weight of the cardboard used.
Blank business cards on perforated 8.5 x 11 sheets intended to allow you to print business cards on your own printer seem to be obtainable for about $6 for 25 sheets, 10 cards per sheet, if you buy the cheap stock, with suitable discounts for larger quantities:
I am attempting to teach myself French. I want these cards for learning vocabulary, and I’m too cheap to pay for premade flashcards.
Post-its might be good to help me learn things around the house. I can envision surfaces covered with them - ‘desk’, ‘refrigerator’, ‘cockatiel’.
I thought about printer-fed business cards, but it’s just as much work to tear them apart than it is to cut them.
Good idea about the printing shop, though…I’ll start looking.
I ordered a couple of boxes of blank business cards for a reasonable price a couple of years ago. Wanted them for the same thing, foreign language vocabulary. Danged if I can remember where I got them.
I did find these tho’: 2x3 blank flash cards. There are probalby more sources out there too. Look for educational supply places.
I can be very penny-pinching in some ways. I often tear 8 1/2 x 11 scrap paper into fourths, which gives me nice-sized note paper. I also use the back of business cards from former jobs as notecards.
