Are you gone home yet Winnie? I hope so. I’m at the shop, and I’ll be here for another 4 1/2 hours or so. Gonna make a couple more 10 lb. batches of soap this evening. Have a good weekend!
How about now? It’s been more than an hour…(Do I need to tell you it will all still be there on Monday…? Plus, you might have more energy to spend on your project. That’s the theory I used in leaving work more or less on time today.)
I survived the day in much better spirits than I’d expected and came home and fixed myself some pasta with scallops and peas. Nummy.
Lots and lots to do this weekend, I’m sure the next MMP will be along in just a moment.

Nope, still here. Expect to be here another hour or so. My back hurts. One project done, another to start. I could take the laptop home, but I hate working from home.
Do I sound whiney? I think I’m being whiney.
GT’s dinner sounds good. I’ll probably grab fast food on the way home. Not good, but what are you going to do? If I hadn’t had a yogurt left over from lunch I’d be much grumpier.
I wish I had some of Bumba’s soap. I love smelling good, but I can’t stand anything floral, so I wear a lot of food scents: vanilla, peach, cucumber/melon. What ‘flavor’ are you making tonight, Bumba?
Dear-heart, you don’t sound whiney to me, and even if you did, which you didn’t, we’re all entitled to it once in awhile. Now ME, I sounded not only whiney, but rather petulant in my earlier in the day post. I’m embarrassed.
I’d like to know the scent of the soap that Bumba is making today too. I also don’t care for “floral” scents. I much prefer clean, light, scents. One of my favorite scents for lotion is a lemongrass/sage that Bath&Body Works used to sell. I just loved that scent. They don’t make it anymore.
Well, time for me to log off here at work. I am NOT staying late tonight.
Ok, I’m finally out of here! Have a nice weekend, and I’ll try to poke my head in here Monday morning, if I can pull away from work long enough!
Interesting. I always wear lavender oil, and it smells slightly floral, musky, and citrusy. I don’t like heavy scents.
Tonight we made Litsea Cubeba, a kind of citrusy smell. The essential oil “is obtained from the small pepper-like fruits of the tree.” My second batch, which I will be mixing in about a 1/2 hour, is a ‘camper’s soap’, with lemongrass, citronella, and cedarwood essential oils, and calendula flowers, all of which are supposed to chase away bugs. Right now we’ve got for sale:
lemon/poppyseed
lavendar
grapefruit/oatmeal
tortilla (lime with corn meal as an exfoliant)
patchouli (yuck)
peppermint
orange/oatmeal
tuberose moss
warm chai (smells like a chai latte)
tea tree (with aloe)
licorice (makes me hungrey for licorice, which I don’t normally crave)
oatmeal cookie (vanilla with oatmeal as an exfoliant)
vanilla
eucalyptus with calendula blossoms
fig
pear
pine tar
cucumber
and oakmoss
Still maturing in the back we’ve got red clove tea and pinot noir (smells like a berry wine) plus some more lemongrass, etc.
So now I’m sitting at the counter listening to Brudder Iz on the stereo and drinking a Black Cherry Hansen’s and waiting for my sodium hydroxide (lye) to cool down enough to mix with my oils. Now that I think about it, I wish I’d opened one of the Black Butte Porters I’ve got in the mini-fridge instead of the Hansen’s. Well, maybe later.
If anybody reads this, a great weekend to you.
I’m generally a lavender person too… but your flavors sound really nice, Bumba. Hurry up with the internet ordering already. Pleeeeaaase? Nice weekend to you too.

Not that I want to make anyone envious or anything, but I have met scout and she’s just as sweet as she can be!
Grr, FCM.
Your soap sounds wonderful, Bumba. Uh, we’re out of soap. Any free samples? Just push them through the disk drive
I second that! I want to try the warm chai.
I third that! Several of your soaps sound very interesting and I want to try them too! (Except for the patchouli, sorry). The Litsea Cubeba sounds very scrumptious! I just told the hubby about the soaps and he told me I have to buy some. Maybe someday I’ll get down to Oregon and I can come visit your store, except I don’t know where exactly in Oregon that you are located.
Well, we went and saw part of Constantine last night. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! We walked out probably less than halfway through. It was absolutely terrible.
I need to go dry my hair and make it purty now. Have a nice weekend all.
