I thought something was up on Xmas. He was with us for the Christmas presents, then I didn’t see him for the rest of the day. He even ate Xmas dinner in his room.
Then, Tom’s sister called, and said her mom had dragged Dad to the doctor’s.
He hadn’t been eating, and he would get up for an hour, then go back to sleep for four to five.
The doctor said he’s lost 28 lbs in about three weeks, and there’s a spot on his lung.
He’s already survived a bout with colon cancer and something with his heart. The fact that he’s smoked for most of his life probably didn’t help matters.
The doctor wants him in for more tests today. Then we shall see.
Stubborn git was mad at Mom for dragging him to the doctor’s. Ivylad already has a plan in place in case Dad refuses to go to the hospital. (It involves getting in his Dad’s face and pissing him off enough to go tot he hospital.)
Prayers, good thoughts, lit candles, all welcome and appreciated.
Keep us updated. It’s too bad some people put their money before their health. I don’t know about Ivylads tactics, but whatever works to get him to the hospital for testing.
Good vibes, warm thoughts, and a healthy appetite for IvyDad heading in an Orlando-ish direction.
It takes an act of God to get my dad to see a doctor, and he works in a hospital! Whatever it takes to get him there, just grit your teeth and do it.

They’re admitting him to the hospital, but not for the spot on his lung, which did turn out to be cancer. His calcium count is extremely high, high enough to kill him.
He’s still in the hospital. They ran some tests yesterday, but because he has diabetes and takes Glucophage (sp?) there’s one test they can’t do until Saturday. They injected him with something and have to wait 48 hours to do the test.
His hands were shaking in the hospital, and he gets very chilled. I don’t even know if he’s eating. We saw him for about five minutes yesterday, and he was very tired.
