Sweetheart, not enough information for me. How do you expect me to charge up there and circumvent the border without knowing what hospital he is in? Email me, hon, and I will be your surrogate …you.
Much Love,
Cheri
[sub]well, not REALLY your surrogate you, but you know what I meant.[/sub]
I called the hospital to find out if I could come up to visit, and after a slight problem (having to do with the fact that they couldn’t identify the patient only known as Bob and I couldn’t come up with his last name), an exhaustive search through old emails to come UP with his last name and another phone call…triumphantly asking for Bob Lastname…they finally put me through to Bob’s nurses station. They informed me that Bob was in OR and I should call back this evening.
Well, of course I thought I had better call Zy and tell her they were operating on her sweetie, just in case she didn’t know already…and boy was I surprised to find out that Bob is HOME. I sure hope they aren’t operating on some OTHER Bob using OUR Bob’s xrays!
I called Bob to say hi and so forth, and we discussed the fact that this might be most painless operation he’ll ever have…sort of an operation in absentia.
All of which is probably a good thing, since I cannot find my birth certificate and they might not have let me back into the country. I was planning on pleading stupidity…“But I didn’t KNOW I needed my birth certificate to get back in…won’t you accept my driver’s license, credit card, picture ID from Costco?”…but I might have had to move in with Bob in the hospital. Which would have been fine, since he isn’t there anyway. So they must have an open bed.
