Goodbye (I hope)..

Hello, my screenname is Plavacek, and I’m a Straight Dope Addict.

Right now, I have the following things I should be doing:

  1. I should be finding an apartment. My ass is on the mean streets of Pissburgh come 7/30, and I haven’t even looked.

  2. I should be writing my thesis. Masters in engineering, not that you give a fuck. 0/150 pages or so, due by the end of August or my funding goes south.

  3. I should be writing a nasty-ass queuing theory simulation for my network performance class. 60% of a grade I need, or I might as well not write the thesis either. Did I mention it’s due at noon tomorrow, and I have yet to begin?

  4. I should be sleeping. Yeah, fuck that. Sleep can blow me.

You: OK, fine. So what are you doing instead?
Me: I’m here, posting this weak, flabby rant.
You: That’s a stupid fucking thing to do. No matter how you look at it, you officially qualify as a dumbass.
Me: Fuck you. By the way, before I posted this weak, flabby rant, I spent 3 hours cruising the links of this piece of splooge:

You: OK, dumbass ceases to apply. Welcome to asshat territory. No, fuck that. Flaming retard. Grass-clutching buggerer.
Me: You’re a bit late with that one, SuaSponte beat you to it by about 4 weeks. See it here:

You: Are you gonna cut this weak flabby rant at any point? it was kinda funny at first, but getting really boring now.

When you’re right, you’re right.
I, Plavacek, hereby hang up my SuperSecretLurkerCloak™, and hie meself hither from this board. See you folks in a year or so. By then, hopefully I’ll have regained the coveted LurkerCrown™ for most truly pathetic post count to time-since-registration ratio.
Last time I took one of these breaks, you folks saw fit to hire 6 new mods or so, start handing out bannings like free balloons at a carnival, and

You: Ahem…cutting the rant, remember?
Me: Right. Sorry. Bye!

Plavacek…Come back…Plavacek!

If it helps, I started searching for my current apartment in early April, and had it secured in about two weeks. And I had to deal with the fact that we were 3000 miles and a time zone away, young and poor, and first-time renters (or I was, at least).

If you start searching now, and get the paperwork end of it done as quickly as you can, it shouldn’t be as daunting a task as it seems.

Good luck to you.

I’ll miss that guy he was like a brother.

I miss him already. I wonder how he’s doing?

I’m worried.
