goodbye

well, I’m finaly doing it, I’m going to hitchhike around the country (and possibly others). I’ve quit my job, and closed my bank account, I’m realy going to do it.
I might check in every once in a while (i’ll be taking my laptop), but for the most part, I’m gone. I’ll be back, but I have no idea when, I’m going to keep traveling until I can’t anymore, and I’ll live where I stop. I just thought I’d let all you guys know.

eggo

Let us know where you are eggo. If you’re near San Francisco we’ll hold a dopefest for ya. Be careful and have fun!

Damn…I’m so envious that I can hardly see straight. Good luck, eggo.

I’m jealous too!

Well, keep safe. Stay away from the serial killers and don’t join any cults.

Best wishes, eggo. Hope ya find all the interesting things the world has to offer.

When it reaches a conclusion there could be a book in this, you know. Keep an open mind and an interest in people.

eggo: Please please please take some good pens, some notebooks, a mini tape recorder, and a bunch of blank tapes. You will SO regret it later if you don’t.

oh, I meant to say that in my OP, I will be keeping a journal (that’s why i’m bringing the laptop)
now I just have to decide what direction to go…

I envy you.
I may do it again when the last kid gets into college (knowck on wood).

I just re-read the OP and it seems a bit misleading, I’ll probably be checking the board more than once a week (at least) I meant it as a symbolic goodbye (to the way I’ve been living for the past 19 years.
I’m also going to have a web site, It’s going to have my journal on it, and (hopefully) some pictures of the places I go and people I meet. I might decide to do a sort of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy type thing, but it seems too labor intensive…
All in all, It’s going to be a grand adventure.

Cool. I wish I could do it. Always wanted to, but personal stuff has always intervened. You;ll just have to do it for me. Give us all your web address so we can follow along.

Have fun eggo! that sounds awesome! Make sure you pack some clean undies and a toothbrush and don’t take candy from strangers!

So, you going to Japan?

Have fun!

…oooh, I was so close to saying something like this…
eggo, we may not have seen eye-to-eye regarding comments made earlier here, but I would like to wish you well on your sojourn. I, too, envy you a little, having kids to raise and a mortgage to pay. Live it up and keep us posted so that we might live vicariously a little through your adventures.
…and be safe.

sayonara! (sorry…had to throw that in!)

Have fun, but stay out of Maine…I hear they have Clowns hiding in their sewers, escapees from the asylums you’ll find on every block and fog that turns you inside out.
Peace…

Hey!! As a native of Portland, Maine I take offense. I did not escape from the asylum, I was RELEASED.

Good luck eggo - I’m too much of a nester to have a grand adventure like that. I’ll just have to live vicariously through you.

Make a list check it twice. Then throw it away and have some fun you lucky kid. if you find yourself in Upstate NY drop a note on the board to me

Stay out of Nebraska. Seriously. There’s nothing to see.

if you go to california and then through topanga canyon don’t get on that yellow bus with all the hippies in it. Oh wait that’s right…Manson is in jail ain’t he?

Have fun! I once road a harley from OK to Calif and loved it!

This thread hits close to home…I’m planning on aimlessly wandering through europe next summer. Unlike you, I have to come back for college. Be sure to work on that website, we’ll be waiting for it.
