Google Cardboard Demos

Not sure which forum this belongs in, but the Game Room is as good as any.

Got a new VR headset and wanted to test it out with the Google Cardboard Demos. For the most part, it works OK. The exception is the Google Earth demo. When I click the Bluetooth remote (Utopia 360 in Mouse mode) to move forward, the image zooms way out into space, a white disc (the sun, maybe?) hovers in front of me, and the Earth becomes a tiny, rapidly-spinning blue dot at my feet.

This doesn’t happen when I tap the touch screen to move forward and to stop. It works fine when I do that, but it’s ridiculous to have to open the headset and remove the phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) to move.

Is this a universal problem, and is there a fix for it? I contacted the company that makes the Utopia, but they just said that it’s a software bug and not connected to their product.

Also, anyone know of a good (free) flight simulator app similar to this one? I’m not talking airplane cockpit or skydiving, I’m talking Superman-style “up, up, and away” flight.
