Pretty cool, cite.
You can also type in “tilt” or “askew” in the Google search field to see the webpage do something interesting.
I tried to show the results of the “tilt” search to a colleague using IE and nothing happened. Maybe these special features don’t work in all the latest browsers.
All I get is search results for ‘do a barrel roll’.
It’s not working for me in FF, I wonder if one of my Plug-Ins (adblock?) is causing a problem. The only other browser I have is IE and one of the links said it doesn’t work in that. FTR, I don’t have any plugins that block scripts/java/flash etc.
I’ve got Adblock running and it works for me in Firefox 7.0.1
I saw it in the latest versions of Safari, Chrome, Opera and Firefox on Windows 7. The only browser that didn’t show the cool effect was Internet Explorer (latest version.)
Ahh pitty. I think it probably uses some features IE doesn’t have yet. It works on Firefox 7 I know.
This is just the tip of the iceburg. HTML5/CSS3 support some amazing things you previously had to use a lot of hacks, images, java, or flash and the like to do.
The tilt/askew thing is pretty cool too.
Doesn’t work for me in Safari.
I must be missing something–following the OP’s link brings me to that snarky ‘Let Me Google that for You’ page.
WHAT IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT?
It also doesn’t work for me (IE nor FF) and it’s VERY FRUSTRATING NOW I"M SO OUT OF IT
Worked fine for me. The browser window did a barrel roll. Fairly predictable.
It appears this only happens once per session. Here’s how to do it:
[ul]
[li]Open a fresh browser window or tab[/li][li]Go to the google.com main page[/li][li]In the search box, type “do a barrel roll” (without the quotes)[/li][/ul]
It’s pretty cool.
Not working for me on the laptop. I will try my Droid.
Nope. Not on the Droid either.
I see nothing but the same ol’ thing. I opened Google, typed in the words but it just autosuggested a few things as usual.
I don’t get it, either. Either the OP’s link, or entering it myself, just gives me search results.
My son called me at work about the Barrel Roll and I tried it on IE and got nothing. Came home and did it on Chrome and it rolled the screen nicely. Just tried the Tilt mentioned above on Chrome and got nothing… tried Askew and it went askew. Not sure why tilt isn’t working for me.
Works for me. Latest version of Firefox in Windows 7.
Ahhh worked in Chrome!
