Google Maps, how-to question

I’m looking for a relatively easy way to mark several locations on a map at one time. For example if I want one flag I can type in the coordinates into the address bar and get this:

(Screen capture)

What I’m hoping to do (again, relatively easily) is this:

(Another screen capture)

The second one was created in Photoshop so I have no idea what the actual coordinates are - knowing the coordinates are important to what I’m trying to achieve. I also would like all of the markers to appear on the map at the same time.

I’ve looked online and watched some YouTube vids but none of it is really clear to me.

Anyone help?

You can mark a location by right clicking the map and selecting “What’s here?”. Do this on all your spots in sequence—you’ll only see the most recent as you go, but that’s OK. When you’re done, hover over the lower floating guy at the top right (Mine says “Traffic” and has a down arrow) and you should see the coordinates you marked at the bottom of the list that appears. Click on them to make them visible.

Google recently switched to a new version of their maps and all the right click stuff went away. You can still used the old version of maps though if you click on the gear icon and choose “classic maps”

Not really. You can’t get the new version without being signed in. However, I see that even in the “old” version I get when not signed in, there is now an option to “Edit in Google Map Maker” at the bottom of the page. That may enable what White SIFL wants. (I do not get a very clear sense of what is really wanted, so it is impossible to say for sure.)

On the other hand, whatever yo are trying to achieve may be something more easily done in Google Earth, where you can set all sorts, of markers, paths, etc, quite easily.

On the left side, click the “Save to map” link in blue. That’ll launch the editor. You can add markers, lines, and polygons there to your heart’s content. You end up with something like this.

Would these locations be offshore like the examples, or would they be places with addresses.

If you have a spreadsheet with addresses, it’s relatively easy to upload it to your Google Drive, turn it into a Fusion Table, geocode the address column, and then display the results as a Google Map.
