Google Photos question

I have a Google account, and the Google Photos app on my phone. But I’ve never really grasped how to make it work efficiently.

I’ll start with a basic question: I just took a photo with my phone. I see it in the Google Photos app, but not when I log into Google Photos on my PC (Other photos are there, however).

Does it auto-magically show up on my PC at some point? Is there a way to manually nudge it to appear? Refreshing and logging off/on do not make it happen.

You have to have your wireless turned on and be connected to a network I think mine does it when the phone has been idle for some period of time and I’m on a wireless network. I keep my wireless turned off unless I need it
