Well, from reading mhendo’s subsequent explanations, it seems to me that his thought process went something like, “That post is ridiculous. I’m going to call that guy a stupid douchebag…wait, no, it’s Quasi. He has Alzheimer’s. I should probably go easy. Wait, no, I’m not going to treat him like a child. He says he doesn’t want that. I’m going to treat him like I treat everyone else! I’m going ahead with my douchebag post.”
To me that is a lot more defensible and understandable than “Ugh, I’m calling the Alzheimer’s patient a douchebag just because I can and I don’t give a shit about him.”
Maybe I’m putting words in his mouth here, but that is how his posts came across to me.
