It was never particularly informative or interesting and I only subscribe to see how distant from “celebrities” their Who Passed This Week entrants are; contenders this week are a former archbishop of Innsbrook, a Malaysian badminton player, and a couple of Finnish writers. And while I’m pissed they have reduced that section to three days rather than seven, that’s not what this is about.
Y’know, one might be excused if one expected a “Where are they now?” to be limited to former someones who fell off the radar. Easy enough to find 52 of them a year. But this week’s former someone is Michael Emerson, late of Lost and current second lead on Person of Interest, Nielsen’s #7 show so far this season. Worse yet, a couple weeks ago the “nobody” was Johnny frickin’ Galecki, a lead, and arguably the most famous person, on the #3 show, The Big Bang Theory. How do these people qualify? They are at the height of their fame!
A thing called “Where are they now?” should concentrate on the odd, hard to find former stars. It shouldn’t be a cut and paste from IMDB showing the careers of people that anybody in the US with a TV or computer can see every week.
